After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World novel Chapter 2102

Chapter 2102: Althea and Garan Re-enters

Althea and Garan had no idea how a man like Virion would need help. Though there were people of similar level as him here, they should be counted on one hand. Not to mention, Virion himself was strong.

Did he get mobbed by the whole town or something?

"He better pay for this," Althea said, already thinking about what to demand of the man. The situation where he’d ask them for assistance would definitely be tricky.

They were literally just passing through here, gathering information by the way. What was this? They inexplicably found themselves involved in such a big event?

To be fair, one couldn’t blame Virion for this. There were several reasons why Virion asked for help, and why it was the wise choice to do so.

First, the two had at least one element each that was great for restricting movement. Virion could take on dozens of level 20 people, even if they were orcs, on his own.

The problem was he was being mobbed by more than that. Further, his ability required a few seconds to charge and aim. Having so many moving around him, attacking, was quite challenging.

Second, the couple were from a town, too. Since there were just the two of them against many locals, it was unlikely they’d trigger anything. Anyway, the Rules and Regulations didn’t prohibit violence here, primarily because orcs loved to fight and tackle.

This was unlike Virion. He was technically within the level cap, but he was from a city and had a highly destructive power. The system heavily disliked acts of mass murder, especially when there was a large level gap.

This was at least applicable outside of wars and within territories, which were the conditions in which the System worked best in.

It wasn’t guaranteed that he could be penalized if he did one of his explosive ’final moves’ now, but he certainly wouldn’t use it unless he absolutely had no choice but to do so.

There was a small chance wherein he could accidentally hit a random commoner while fighting and he could get his level reduced. This was not only painful considering how much he had to do and spend to level up, but also deadly since he might be mid-fight when it happened.

In an attempt to lower the risks for himself, Virion led the fight towards the walls, though no one was stupid enough to allow it to go past it. Virion was fighting with the two level 30s following him while either defending or passively accepting the attacks from others.

The others’ attacks were not that strong for him, but piled up they did hurt, and they’d chip his HP bit by bit once his equipment completely gave way. If the current status was maintained, then it was only a matter of time.

He had always had a roughish look to him, but today he actually looked a little haggard.

This somewhat pitiful image was what the couple arrived to see.

Technically, they should rush to help him out.

However, Garan wanted to watch for a few minutes before making a move. He even crossed his arms as he stood, looking like he was watching a good show.

Althea: "..."

"GET RID OF THEM! GET RID OF THEM!" he screamed like a pig (no offense to Rourou).

He could feel the control he worked so hard to grab slipping through his fingers. So many years of planning and experiments, were they going to encounter obstacles now?!

The reason why Plai became aggressive immediately when Virion showed he was getting closer to the truth was precisely because he was from Warrior City.

He simply couldn’t afford any more investigations, so they had to take a risk and take him down before he could send any more letters. They had too many things that they were afraid of public scrutiny.

While they could hear some explosions from outside the etrritory, likely Virion’s work, Althea and GAran were absolutely not idle when taking down the orc elementalists.

Plai joined in the frey, hoping to handle this before it got too big. He also needed to make sure Virion was neutralized.

They had to neutralize these people. Elements abound, and fights exploded across the territory, destroying a lot of the few trees, damaging some weaker houses.

Most of the collateral damage wasn’t even due to Althea or Garan, but their locals.

BOOM!
