649-the Hidden Usb Heist
Liam knew his father well and had been confident he would warm up to Tatiana, especially with the fertility test report to bask him up–he’d anticipated almost no hurdles.
“Now you can set your mind at ease, right?”
Tatiana smiled, neither accepting nor rejecting his implication outright.
He mistook her reserve for shyness and did not press her, certain their relationship would progress naturally in due time.
They circled the back garden once, and Tatiana suddenly asked, “Did you grow up here?”
“Of course.”
“T’d love to see photos of you as a child.”
Liam readily agreed, delighted she wanted to learn more about his past.
He led her to tour his bedroom,
and private study.
Frames lined the shelves, capturing every stage of his childhood and adolescence.
Liam recounted the stories behind each photograph vividly, spinning tales as they went.
Tatiana listened intently, yet her peripheral eyes scanned the layout constantly, while she kept track of the time.
Her scheduled window was drawing near, so she said, “May I use the restroom?”
“Of course.”
She turned and left the room.
“What are you doing out here?”
“Shhh.”
He fell silent and wandered over curiously, finding her kneeling to watch a litter of kittens.
“They’re so cute.”
Five kittens with distinct patterned fur huddled together, asleep, utterly charming.
“Do you like cats?”
“I do, I love them.”
Her expression looked utterly genuine, as if she truly adored the kittens. She couldn’t resist reaching out to pet them every now and then, giggling softly at their tiny mewls.
