Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever novel Chapter 590

Chapter 590: Chapter 590 – We never met here tonight

Seraphine didn’t know for certain. She’d simply found the video of Noelle’s confession a little out of the norm, a little too convenient. Something about it had nagged at her, gnawed at the edges of her consciousness like an itch she couldn’t quite reach.

Certain that she was not related to Coco in any way, she was equally certain that Coco’s meeting with Voren was not just a coincidence or because of Voren’s search for Seraphine’s look-alike. The timing was too perfect, the circumstances too neatly arranged.

Yes, it was possible for someone to look like Seraphine but not this identical. Not with this exact bone structure, this precise symmetry of features.

As a medical doctor, she concluded that Coco had had a plastic surgery of some kind, but how could it be done in a way to make Coco look exactly as Seraphine?

The precision required would be impossible, the surgery itself unheard of in modern medicine. No amount of scalpels and fillers could replicate the unique combination of genetics that made up her face.

That was how Seraphine settled on witchcraft. The conclusion made a horrifying kind of sense. If that was the case, then it was also possible that Coco had pulled more strings, manipulated more than just her own appearance.

For instance, Daisy had tried to use a spell on Voren which did not work, so how did Coco manage to get so close? Witches were the most dangerous creatures in their world, and for such reason, packs never condoned their crafts.

The very mention of witchcraft sent shivers down the spines of even the most powerful Alphas.

Between Vampires, Lycans, Werewolves, and Witches, only witches had the ability to use their powers anywhere. Vampires were unable to operate during the day, their powers tied to the darkness.

Lycans and werewolves lost their abilities in the human world, their strength and senses dulled to near-human levels.

But witches thrived anywhere, their magic flowing through them regardless of location or circumstance, making them more dangerous than met the eyes.

They could bend reality, manipulate memories, rewrite history with a whisper and a wave.

Seraphine only guessed it, but was now certain it was true from what Coco had said and judging from her pale form. The woman’s face had drained of all color, her hands trembling at her sides, and Seraphine knew she had struck gold.

"I didn’t know for sure," Seraphine admitted, her voice carrying a note of triumph despite her exhaustion. "But you just confirmed it. So how did you do it? How did you manipulate his mind to think that he slept with you and even hurt you?" The questions tumbled out all at once, her curiosity overriding her caution.

She wanted to know if Coco had inherited her mother’s powers, or if she was just using her mother’s help. The distinction mattered, would determine how dangerous Coco truly was.

An inherited witch was born with power, raised in it, trained in it. A witch using borrowed magic was far less formidable, far easier to defeat.

"Why should I tell you?" Coco’s defiance was crumbling, but she clung to it desperately. Her eyes darted around the room, calculating, assessing, ready to move to plan B since clearly, plan A had failed spectacularly.
