Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever novel Chapter 605

Chapter 605: Chapter 605 - Mr. Ashkael, the attack is from your wife

Brad’s disastrous call to Corvine had only made things worse, and it took every ounce of Curt’s restraint to keep from losing his mind completely.

He paced the sterile hospital corridor, his footsteps echoing against the linoleum, each pass wearing a groove into his sanity. Finally, he managed to calm down enough to call Riven, his fingers trembling as he dialed.

Riven was taking care of the training of the warriors at the centenary pack when he received the call. "Alpha Curt, to what do I owe this call?" His voice carried a note of cautious curiosity.

Curt smiled rather sheepishly, bottling his frustration behind a mask of false composure. "Riven, I remember you mentioning how your server and that of Gray were attacked in New York." He paused, choosing his words carefully. "Care to share how the issue was resolved? I honestly did not pay attention then."

Riven could already guess that Curt had messed up, and asked bluntly, "What did you do?" After Curt narrated everything—the hacked servers, the Nova Ghost attack, the chaos at the casino, the customers demanding their winnings, Riven let out a long, weary sigh.

"You messed up, Alpha Curt." His voice carried no sympathy, only cold fact. "But I am certain that what Corvine said is true. He isn’t Nova Ghost. That is rather Seraphine’s cyber name." A pause, heavy with meaning. "It’s just as it is. She operates like a ghost. No one ever sees her coming, and by the time you realize what’s happened, you’re already destroyed."

Curt was sweating profusely now, his shirt clinging to his back. They were still at the hospital where Killian was admitted, and now, his frustration was growing worse with every passing second. "But I never offended her," he said defensively, his voice cracking.

Riven shook his head pitifully at the end of the line, his disappointment palpable. "Didn’t you hear what Alpha Voren said? Seraphine went against him when he went against Corvine’s parents’ company." He let the words sink in.

"With Corvine showing interest in the princess, that means Seraphine would go against whoever goes against what makes Corvine sad. She’s fiercely protective of those she considers family."

"But Liah was the one who threatened us!" Curt continued to argue, unable to understand that Seraphine could go to such lengths. "Seraphine didn’t even show that she cared! She barely looked at us!"

"Exactly." Riven’s voice was flat, almost amused. "That’s what makes her so dangerous. She doesn’t make threats. She just acts. And by the time you realize you’ve made an enemy, it’s far too late." He paused, allowing Curt to absorb the weight of his words.

"Don’t forget she’s the reason we lost both our businesses and our packs. That woman is vengeful, Alpha Curt. She doesn’t forgive, and she never forgets."

Curt wanted to cry. His beef was with Liah and Corvine, so how could Seraphine do this? The injustice burned in his chest like acid. "Riven, what do I do? She did the same to Brad." His voice cracked with desperation.

Riven went into deep thoughts, silence stretching between them before he finally spoke. "Looking at how messed up the whole thing is, the only person who can control Seraphine is her husband." His voice dropped, barely above a whisper. "And looking at his relationship with Corvine, good luck trying to talk to him."
