I nod, I remember that. They kept bitching about him not attending, so I offered to send transportation for him. However, I’ve never met the guy. “Why is this Kayson person following my wife?”
“Audrey asked him to,” she almost whispers.
Audrey gasps, “I did not! He is your cousin-in-law.”
“You’re the one who contacted him as soon as he reached out to me,” Seraphine counters. I turn to Rowan, and he shakes his head, proceeding to tell me ‘Let them’ through the pack link. “I didn’t talk to him, I broke ties with that family after my Father asked me to.”
“What business do I have with him?” She frowns. “Can you just stop with this and tell him why he was really here?”
Seraphine’s eyes widen. “Because you brought him here. You snuck him into the house.”
“I haven’t even been in the house for days,” she gasps. “I was barely here way before he kicked me out.”
“Enough,” I snap. “This bickering..” I motion between them. It’s like a game of who to pin the blame on.
“I’m telling the truth, Kingston,” Seraphine argues. “I swear on my life, I really am.”
“She’s lying,” Audrey growls. “I’m telling the truth. She wanted to get revenge against you for killing her mate. They teamed up to harm Aeliana.”
“Why would I use my sister? I’ve never used her for anything!”
“You don’t consider her a sister!” Audrey counters. I keep watching their exchange. These two never fight, they do nearly everything together, so why are they pitting against each other?
“Yes, I do,” Seraphine argues. “I know I’ve been a terrible sister to all my sisters, but I was an amazing soul sister to you. I turned a blind eye to everything you do wrong, and this is how you repay me? You want me to take the blame for your shit?”
“I’m not going to lie for you, you tried to hurt Aeliana.”
“Me? It was you!” She snaps, shoving her. “Why are you throwing me under the bus when you’re the one
who did this?”
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” I stare down at her. “Don’t you get it? We are over. Nothing you do will ever get us together again.”
“I don’t want to get back with you,” she sobs, getting on her feet. “She’s lying!”
“I’m done lying for you!” Seraphine screams. “You can’t stand to see anyone happy.” She shakes her head, both of them crying now. I remain unfazed by their tears. “I used to think it was just Aeliana’s happiness that you hated, but it’s me too. How much more do I have to give for you to understand that I do care? I’ve done everything for you even when it ruined my life, Audrey. You’ve taken everything from me, and I wish I had never befriended you at that party.”
Audrey gasps, something unfamiliar flickers in her gaze and it’s the first emotion I’ve seen from her since I walked in here. “Seraphine.”
