Awakened Housewife Ignore Betrayer's Begs (Scarlett) novel Chapter 749

"Ow, damn it, stop... stop hitting me..."

After that, the only sounds left in the room were scattered cries and broken sobs.

Vincent stood outside the private lounge with one shoulder against the wall, the thin haze of cigarette smoke softening the sharp edges of his face as the screams coming through the door echoed down the hallway. There wasn't a trace of hesitation in his expression, let alone pity.

Only after blood slowly crept out beneath the door and spread toward the toe of his shoe did he finally shift slightly.

Lowering his gaze, he stared at the dark stain leaking through the narrow crack.

A moment later, he spoke in a calm, indifferent voice.

"That's enough."

The sounds inside stopped instantly.

Several minutes later, a few men stepped out of the room one after another. Their clothes were spotless and their hands looked clean, but the sweat dripping from their faces made it obvious how brutal things had gotten inside.

Vincent looked at them coldly. "Did you get anything?"

The man in front hesitated before answering carefully, "Yeah. They talked. Said Miss Theron was behind it."

Even saying it aloud sounded difficult for him to believe.

The second Scarlett's name entered Vincent's ears, the look in his eyes darkened sharply. The cigarette pack in his hand crumpled under the pressure of his grip.

He knew Scarlett alone couldn't have pulled something like this off.

Which meant the person standing behind her had to be Damian.

Vincent still remembered Damian once saying Naomi was the third woman he hated most.

If that was true, then Sabrina was probably somewhere in the top two.

And if Vincent's guess wasn't wrong, the women Damian hated most likely all had one thing in common.

Scarlett.

The more he thought about it, the colder his expression became. Finally, he tossed the crushed cigarette pack onto the floor.

After a long silence, he lifted his eyes again and said flatly, "Take them to the hospital. Just make sure they stay alive."

"Yes, Mr. Stewart."

The men immediately nodded.

Vincent turned and walked out of the bar without another word.

Once he got into the car, he called Abbott.

The hand gripping the steering wheel tightened harder and harder as the phone rang, the strain so visible his knuckles had already turned pale beneath the dim light inside the car. His jaw was locked tight, every line of his face tense with restrained anger.

At that moment, one chaotic thought after another crossed his mind.

Maybe the situation between Daniel and Sabrina had been deliberately leaked by Damian from the start.

The call connected.

"Mr. Stewart," Abbott answered quickly.

Vincent's voice was icy. "Keep an eye on Nathan's company. Find the right opportunity and file a patent infringement suit against them."

Abbott's heart sank immediately.

Nathan's company had always operated cleanly, but that didn't matter. A lawsuit alone was enough to drag a small financial company straight into hell. Massive legal fees, frozen assets, endless court proceedings, all of it could crush them completely before the case even ended.

Nolan could see the uneasiness written all over her face, so he simply nodded gently. "Go ahead."

Remembering she'd promised to stay and take care of him the night before, Scarlett suddenly felt guilty for leaving so abruptly. Lowering her head slightly, she said softly, "Sorry, Nolan."

Nolan didn't blame her at all.

"Family comes first."

Scarlett grabbed her bag and turned toward Damian. "Let's go."

The word "let's" made both Damian and Nolan pause for the briefest moment.

Damian recovered first and answered quietly, "Yeah. Let's go."

The second the car stopped outside Theron Manor, Scarlett pushed the door open and hurried out before Damian could even say anything.

Her leg still hadn't fully healed, so she limped badly as she rushed toward the house, calling anxiously the entire way.

"Violet! Violet!"

Violet had just finished getting ready upstairs. Hearing Scarlett's voice, she immediately walked toward the staircase.

"I'm here. What's wrong?"

The moment Scarlett saw Violet standing there completely unharmed, her eyes turned red instantly.

She rushed forward and wrapped her arms tightly around her.

Relief hit so hard her voice broke.

"Thank God... you're okay."
