Bait for a Gentleman novel Chapter 76

Audrina was utterly speechless.

A closet freak, indeed.

"I'll stop teasing," Sebastian said, his tone turning more serious. "Since you aren't drunk, I'll take you home."

Despite his words, his hand firmly holding her waist didn't loosen one bit.

A dark, primal hunger flickered in the man's eyes, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly.

Audrina found it incredibly amusing. He talked about taking her home, but his body language told a very different story.

She didn't say a word, simply leaning in closer.

Her nose brushed against his jawline, her warm breath ghosting over his throat.

Sebastian's fingers tightened their grip.

Neither of them brought up "leaving" again after that.

The curtains were drawn halfway, casting a dim, golden glow over the hotel room. Her back was pressed flush against the sheets, her long hair spread wildly around her as he pinned her wrists by her head. Every single movement felt insatiable, yet he seemed to deliberately draw it out, waiting for her to beg for mercy.

She bit down on his shoulder, her voice shattering in her throat. The corners of her eyes flushed red, brimming with delicate, unshed tears.

And every time, he would whisper, "Cry for me again."

...

A long while later, after resting for a bit, Audrina got up to take a shower.

The sound of running water echoed from the bathroom for about ten minutes.

When she stepped out, Sebastian was leaning against the headboard, a cigarette in hand. He was completely bare-chested, with the duvet draped casually over his waist.

Without hesitation, Audrina untied her bathrobe right in front of him, bent down to pick up her scattered clothes, and took her time dressing layer by layer.

Sebastian watched her intently, his gaze trailing from her fingertips to her collarbone and further down, as if his eyes were tracing every inch of her body all over again.

"I'll head out first." Audrina pulled her hair out from under her collar, running her fingers through it carelessly.

"Taking what you want and then running away?"

She bent down and whispered near his ear. "It's not that I want to run. But Mr. Hawthorne, could you go a little easier next time? My back is killing me."

Sebastian raised an eyebrow.

"Also," Audrina added, lowering her voice even further. "I'll probably need a favor from you tomorrow morning..."

The man reached out and gripped her waist, his thumb gently rubbing against the faint red marks he had left on her side.

Only then did he say, "Go on."

Audrina grabbed her purse, opened the door, and slipped out. The lock clicked softly behind her.

The only problem was, Ken had misremembered and accidentally given her the room number next door.

Furthermore, he had no idea Vera was planning to show up and "catch them in the act." She had been playing him too.

As long as she could get evidence of Audrina's "infidelity," she would be completely cut off by the Sutton family!

Vera originally intended to come the night before, but she hadn't been able to slip away.

Her only choice was to get there as early as possible in the morning...

But why on earth was Carter Garrison answering the door? Was Audrina still inside?

Vera instinctively craned her neck to peek inside.

And then she saw Sebastian stepping out from the inner room.

He wore a white bathrobe tied loosely at the waist, his hair still slightly damp. It was obvious he had just stepped out of the shower.

He leaned casually against the doorframe, staring down at her with an entirely unreadable expression.

"Ms. Yates. Can I help you?"

Vera's brain completely short-circuited.

Carter: *Did I seriously just get played?*
