Robert and Petra, who hadn’t gone far, heard this and smiled.

Lucas took Lynn’s hand and led her inside.

Charles was sitting on the sofa reading a magazine. Sandy had just taken her medicine and was coming out of the kitchen.

“Sandy,” Lynn greeted her.

Lucas glanced at Sandy but didn’t say anything.

“Lynn, you’re here,” Sandy said with a smile, walking over to them.

Lucas corrected her, “She’s back.”

Lynn suddenly felt a warm glow. “Back,” not “here.” Just one word difference, but the meaning was completely different.

She also noticed Lucas didn’t treat Sandy very nicely.

But Daisy had said Lucas and Sandy used to be classmates and their relationship was okay.

But now it seemed like Lynn could take a lot of things in stride. Like the arranged marriage–she didn’t even care who she was marrying. He wasn’t sure if she liked him.
