Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All novel Chapter 260

Chapter 260: 260-Slipping Through

Gigi:

"That man, Roman, attacked Verity after he got jealous and everything, but then he attacked Oliver too. The same day Verity arrived, Oliver came to the office, and footage of their interaction went missing."

I just kept watching Ragnar’s face. Theodore and Jaguar were doing the same.

They shared a glance, which made me check their expressions too.

It seemed like there was some kind of concern about that first meeting between Oliver and Verity.

"You knew about it?" Jaguar asked his brother, making me snap my head toward him.

"Knew about what?" I intervened.

I had no clue Oliver had done something in the office.

I had fucking told him to be on his best behavior there because there were cameras in certain areas.

"Yeah. And I found out that he made Miss Verity stay late. Then, when she left, he went after her. After that, he got into the security room and asked the guard to get something. By the time the guard returned, the specific clip of their interaction next to the elevator was gone," Ragnar explained in one breath, causing my heart to roll around in my chest.

My throat became so dry that I couldn’t even swallow anymore.

"Did you speak with Oliver? Did you ask him? Maybe they talked about something private and agreed that they didn’t want it out there. You know they had a history together, right? Do you know that?"

I felt so anxious that I dropped the whole act of being a sweet, innocent, calm woman.

I just couldn’t help but speak harshly.

They were talking about my brother. My baby brother.

I just didn’t understand how Ragnar had all these thoughts about him, all these questions about him, and never once thought to speak with my brother or me about any of it.

He just kept it all to himself.

I thought he was sharing everything with me.

"Why would I speak with him?"

Ragnar looked at me, and I noticed a slight jolt from him, almost like a cringe. It seemed like I had offended him.

"She’s just saying, did you try to clarify? Because maybe they had a reason." Theodore immediately jumped in to defend me.

Ragnar’s expression started to soften when he noticed that I had seen the harsh look on his face.

"Well, if you had spoken with my brother, you would have found out that–" I paused and swallowed, a few tears escaping my eyes. "That the two of them used to date."

I gulped.

"And it was a secret because her brother and I didn’t approve of the relationship. Mainly because my brother was just going with the flow. Verity was a very rejected, almost invisible girl, so when she confessed to my brother and told him she had a crush on him, he couldn’t say no because of me and my relationship with Justin."

I began to let out little hiccups as I explained the whole story I had just made up in my mind.

"Then I will speak with Verity and end this matter once and for all. Now, I don’t want any more discussion on this topic. I haven’t had breakfast," Ragnar stated, once again bringing Verity’s opinion and side into it as if they mattered.

What I found strange was that I was literally telling him what had happened between them.

The Ragnar I knew, the Ragnar who loved me, would never question me.
