Verity:
"How can you do this? After what happened to your sister, how can you do something like this to another woman?" I asked, taking a large step back before stumbling.
However, I quickly regained my balance, making sure I didn’t land on my ass.
"I’d love to tell you I’m doing all this to avenge my sister," he let out with a loud laugh. "But no. I enjoy it. And you? You’ve had my attention for quite some time."
He watched me before continuing.
"Remember that night when you came to me crying, begging for money for your brother’s hospital bill? Yeah. Remember how I made you strip?"
Suddenly, it hit me.
His words made my fists clench as my face grew hot.
He stopped right in front of me and lowered his head while I stood there, keeping my eyes on him.
"What happened? Remember now? Remember what you looked like back then? Everything was hanging off you."
He let out a laugh while I turned my face away and closed my eyes.
"Did I strike a nerve?" he mumbled, crouching down with his hands resting on his knees.
"Remember that day? You had put on so much weight that you could barely tell where your curves started and ended. But even then–" he commented as he straightened his back.
Then he began circling me like a predator stalking its prey.
When he came up behind me, he paused just long enough to lean toward my ear and whisper, "I was ready to sleep with you. But then you fought me. You fought me and ran away. I didn’t like that."
He complained in a childish tone, even stomping his foot against the ground like a child throwing a tantrum.
Then he suddenly burst out laughing at his own behavior.
I moved aside when he stepped in front of me again.
He pouted, curling his lips downward.
"Remember? My whole life, I kept giving you chances to sleep with me. You always acted like you were something special. Even when you were fat and barely had any options, you still rejected me."
This time, his jaw tightened.
"And what did you think? That you could tell the Alpha brothers that I, their favourite person, treated you badly and they’d get rid of me?"
His voice dripped with sarcasm.
"I already knew Alpha King Ragnar had been texting me from your phone that night. And don’t even get me started on Jenna. I tore her so well—"
I immediately covered my ears, refusing to listen to any more of his disgusting talk.
"No, don’t cover your ears," he demanded, pointing at my hands.
I slowly lowered them and uncovered my ears.
"Otherwise, that bitch’s videos will go viral. She’s practically family to the Alpha King brothers, isn’t she? Imagine what that would do to their reputation and their names."
He threatened me before stepping back and looking me up and down.
"Yeah, I wish you’d come to me before Jenna did. But whatever. Jenna still served her purpose," he commented, rubbing his chest.
"How do you think I used her? How do you think I got what I wanted from her?" he asked.
My gaze shifted from the car to the road before returning to him.
I saw the devil in his face.
I was afraid he was about to do something completely unhinged, and judging by the smile he gave me, I could already tell I was right.
"So, let’s see them together. What do you say?" he asked as he suddenly pulled out his phone from his pocket.
I tried to step back.
"You don’t have to do all this," I pleaded, holding my hands out toward him.
