Fluffy Mates Chase Their Boss on Survival Show novel Chapter 222

Chapter 222 The Core Stabilized

Suddenly, Shane’s voice broke through again.

“Now! Follow me!”

His mental force formed a silver bridge that crashed into the massive Starcore Essence vein at the cavern’s center.

“Boom!”

A deluge of energy, vaster and more overwhelming than anything before, came crashing back.

Layla’s head felt like it had been slammed by a heavy sledgehammer. Yet this surging, violent force did not tear them apart. At the forefront of the raging energy tide, three wispy strands of mental power-faint yet unyieldingly resilient-drove forward like wedges, absorbing the brunt of the brutal impact to shield Shane.

“Think of Layla!”

“Protect Layla!”

Liam and George shouted almost in unison.

That absurd command of “bowing down,” under the crushing pressure of life and death, had been overridden by a deeper, primal instinct.

“Protect Layla!”

This resolve became their sole, shared purpose. Layla’s mind cleared completely, her senses sharpened to an unparalleled clarity. It felt as though she had merged entirely with the space around her. She could hear the thunderous roar of the waterfall beyond, feel the faint thrumming of the crystals embedded in the cavern walls, and even catch the distant whisper of wind rustling through treetops.

Once wild and erratic, the Starcore Essence vein was now a tamed creature, lying calm and subdued beneath them. Its steady, rhythmic thrum slowly fell in sync with the beat of their hearts.

It had stabilized.

Layla slowly opened her eyes.

And as she did, Liam and George followed suit, both pale and drenched in cold sweat.

They exchanged a glance, sharing the terror of their narrow escape from death.

“I think I just saw a fish bowing to me,” George gasped, his voice shaky.

Liam wiped the sweat from his forehead and glanced at him. “I saw a block of iron doing push-ups.”

Layla ignored these two, still sniping at each other. She looked down at Shane, leaning against her.

He had his eyes closed, as if resting.

A moment later, he opened his eyes.

Those deep eyes no longer held that earlier weakness. In its place was a lucidity that seemed to see through everything.

“It’s done.” He looked at her and gave a faint smile.

Then he raised his wrist, the one with the silver mark.

Under the astonished gaze of the other three, the ring of flowing starlight on Shane’s wrist glimmered faintly.

At the cavern’s center, the colossal Starcore Essence vein resonated with a gentle hum in response.

At the vein’s tip, a fist-sized piece of silver metal, seemingly alive, detached from the main body and floated into the air.

Shane gestured casually toward it.

The chunk of Starcore Essence drifted lightly over and landed steadily in his palm.

“Wow!” George exclaimed, eyes wide with wonder, unable to resist reaching out to touch it.

“Don’t!”

Shane and Liam stopped him simultaneously.

George froze, disgruntled, and pulled his hand back.

Shane then held the Starcore Essence before Layla. His voice was still weak, but his tone was utterly solemn.

“It’s for you.”

“This is the core of Planet A13, and it’s our future.”

He locked eyes with her, emphasizing, “From now on, it answers only to you.”

Layla examined the metallic piece in her palm.

It had a strange, warm, almost moist feel, like holding a piece of living jade. The silver iridescence on its surface moved slowly, as if alive.

“Only to me?” She looked up at Shane, still not entirely certain. “How do I use this thing? Blood contract?”

Shane chuckled softly at her question, then leaned against her with a gentle voice. “No. You hold it, and it’s yours. As for how to use it, you’ll know in time.”

“What do you mean by ‘in time’? Can’t you just tell us now?” George interjected, eyes fixed hungrily on the Starcore Essence. “It’s so beautiful. Must be worth a fortune! Layla, we’re rich!”

Liam ignored him. He was more concerned with practical matters. He crouched down to study Shane. “Are you really okay?”

“I’m fine. Just overexerted my mental energy. I’ll recover with some rest,” Shane shook his head. Then, as if remembering something, a spark of clarity crossed his eyes. “Most importantly, I’ve temporarily stabilized

the energy field. Our Vanguard should be able to reconnect.”

Almost the instant the words left his lips, faint red lights began flickering outside the cavern.

It was their Vanguards!

Simultaneously, on Planet A13’s official livestream channel, the four windows that had been black for over twelve hours flickered to life, captured under the gaze of countless viewers across the planetary network.
