Chapter 320 Hidden Hide
Drive off a pack of wild beasts? Without their mechs or any weapons, the idea seemed utterly impossible.
Daisy was the first to voice her protest.
“Why on earth should we provoke the beasts? Wasn’t yesterday just a freak accident?” she demanded, hands on her hips.
Murmurs of agreement rippled through the group.
“Exactly. If we piss them off and they come rampaging through the camp, will the production crew take responsibility?”
The crew members exchanged uneasy glances, scrambling for a rebuttal.
Stepping forward from the back, Layla spoke up, her voice calm and clear, “Yesterday wasn’t an accident. It was deliberate.” Her gaze swept over the anxious faces. “Which means, if we leave the beasts alone, they won’t come looking for trouble here.”
A collective gasp filled the air.
In the corner, Stella’s complexion visibly paled.
Fiona’s eyes widened in shock. “Deliberate? What do you mean?”
A knowing smile touched Layla’s lips as she glanced toward the direction of Emily’s tent.
“Take a guess why the hyenas targeted only Emily. I can promise you it wasn’t because her tent looked particularly flimsy.”
At those words, Stella’s face drained of all color.
Has she figured it out?
I should have gotten rid of the evidence last night.
Observing the rapid shift from blush to pallor on Stella’s face, Layla knew her guess was right.
That hyena pup’s pelt was definitely Stella’s doing.
She turned to Carson, who stood nearby. “Mr. Fields, do me a favor. Take a sniff around Emily’s campsite and dig a little. I guarantee you’ll find something interesting.”
She had kept the discovery to herself yesterday, burying the knowledge deep, waiting for the perfect moment to spring this little surprise.
As Stella heard Layla’s request for Carson-the one with the keenest nose-to start digging, panic flashed in her eyes.
Layla’s expression held nothing but cold disdain for the flustered Stella.
So careless! After all this time, she’s still this sloppy.

Curiosity piqued, the group craned their necks. One of the Vanguards even followed Carson as he moved outside.
It didn’t take long. Carson quickly caught the faint, unmistakable scent of blood, poorly concealed.
With efficient movements, he unearthed the small, foul-smelling hyena pelt from its hiding place in a
corner.
Dried, stinking blood still clung to its fur.
Another wave of shocked silence hit the contestants, mirrored by the erupting live chat.
[No wonder the hyenas were out for blood last night-literally! They were seeking revenge.]
[But who planted the pelt?]
[Couldn’t Emily have killed the pup herself and hidden it?]
[Are you insane? Given who Emily is, you think she’d be that clueless? Someone set her up!]
[My money’s on Stella.]
[Stella for sure. Who else is that twisted?]
Watching her name flood the live chat, Stella bit her lip hard.
Tears of apparent grievance welled in her eyes. “I went straight back to my room after yesterday and never left! The Vanguard was recording the whole time. You can all check the replay if you don’t believe me!”
Some viewers immediately scoured the footage.
It was true-the replay showed Stella hadn’t stepped outside her designated area.
Yet, with no other obvious suspect, suspicion still hung heavily around her.
Layla watched her coolly, arms crossed.
The moment Stella offered her alibi, the whole picture clicked into place.
Yesterday, for fairness, the previous group had hidden items without Vanguard surveillance.
That was Stella’s window.
Layla’s eyes darkened.
As for how she obtained the pelt…
Stella’s more skilled than I thought.
Amidst the chaos of fleeing the hyenas, fighting for survival, she had the presence of mind to snatch a pup and later concoct this vicious plan.
The sheer, calculating spite of it was unsettling.

While disgust for the culprit ran deep, the lack of concrete evidence meant they could only resolve to be more vigilant.
Fiona clapped her hands, redirecting the tense atmosphere. “We will have this investigated properly. For now, everyone needs to focus on the task. Hyenas hold grudges. If they rally other beasts, we’ll have a much bigger problem on our hands.”
At this, Layla tilted her head, a thoughtful look crossing her face. She spoke softly, but her words carried to everyone. “What if I told you… I might have a way for us to coexist peacefully with all the beasts here?”
All eyes snapped to her, filled with a mixture of astonishment and blatant disbelief.
Even the usually supportive viewers erupted in doubt.
[I’m starting to like Layla, but that’s pushing it. Sounds like a tall tale.]
[Yeah, since when do wild beasts negotiate? Does she think they’re tamed pets?]
[Losing some respect for her here.]
[Hold on, let her try first. Layla hasn’t been one for empty boasts. Remember how she was with the animals before? I say we give her a chance.]
[Planet A13 was an uninhabited planet to begin with-humans only set foot there for the show. Now they’re being forced to leave? That’s just inhumane.]
