Gordon Quinn completed his task and left soon after.
Chloe Sinclair also got ready to head back and continue her studies.
Just then, Professor Myers stopped Chloe and asked, "Chloe, have you been doing any research lately?"
Chloe Sinclair shook her head. "Not at the moment, but I should have a new research direction before long."
Professor Myers was taken aback, a hint of surprise in his voice. "You’re not focusing on a single field?"
After all, most professors and researchers dedicated their entire lives to a single field. Take Joel Quincy, for example—he had spent his entire career in the nuclear sector, and even his interdisciplinary research never strayed far from it.
But Chloe Sinclair’s work ranged from three-dimensional quantum physics and intelligent robotics to, now, nuclear fusion—fields with virtually no connection to one another.
He had assumed Chloe would continue her research within those three areas, but he never imagined the young woman was already planning to study something else entirely.
Surprised as he was, Professor Myers also felt a deep sense of admiration.
"If you run into anything you don’t understand in your studies, you can always come to us old-timers."
While each of them specialized in a particular field, their collective knowledge was vast. They could help Chloe Sinclair in many areas.
This was despite his feeling that there was little left they could teach her.
Nevertheless, Chloe Sinclair was delighted, replying excitedly, "Thank you, Professor."
Professor Myers watched her, thinking what a shame it was that she wasn’t his own apprentice.
That was why every time he saw Joel Quincy, he felt a mix of rivalry and regret.
’If only Chloe had been my apprentice...’
The more Professor Myers thought about it, the more heartbroken he felt.
"Alright now, go get something to eat."
Chloe Sinclair nodded and said goodbye to Professor Myers.
By now, a heavy snow had begun to fall. A bone-chilling wind, thick with snowflakes, rushed to meet her.
However, the further she progressed, the more advanced the required knowledge became.
Much of it was information Chloe Sinclair had never encountered before, making it incredibly difficult to learn.
However, her memory had improved significantly. Once Chloe Sinclair got into the right mindset, her learning speed increased dramatically.
Although time was tight, Chloe Sinclair didn’t try to finish everything at once. Instead, she took a two-hour break to relax, and the next day, she went for her run without fail.
However, with the roads slippery from the snow, Chloe always did an hour-long warm-up before she started running.
Even so, the intensity of her workout still left the members of the athletics team breathless with admiration.
Three days flew by. Chloe Sinclair finally completed her task on the very day the system’s deadline was up.
"Eight, what’s the experimental task?"
Having finished learning about all the equipment on the first floor, Chloe Sinclair was absolutely buzzing with excitement.
