Chapter 278: Chapter 170: Forget Those on Shore (2)

The phone rang for almost ten seconds before Su Zhuyun answered.

Su Chen frowned at the cacophony coming from the other end of the line. "Dad, where are you and Mom? Why’s it so noisy?"

"Your mom and I are on a boat to Sanya’s West Island. What’s up, Xiaochen?" Su Zhuyun’s weary voice came through the phone. It sounded like the last few days of sightseeing in Hainan had worn him out.

Su Chen and Su Zhuyun had similar personalities—they both preferred peace and quiet over constant activity. Chen Shufen, however, was a whirlwind of energy. ’I can only imagine how many miles Dad has been forced to walk,’ Su Chen thought.

"Oh, it’s nothing major. I’m in Sanya now, too. Just wanted to see if you guys were still in Hainan."

Hearing that Su Chen was in Sanya, Su Zhuyun’s voice immediately jumped a few octaves. "You’re in Sanya, too? Want to come find your mom and me on West Island?"

After he said that, Su Chen couldn’t tell what Su Zhuyun was doing. A rustling sound came from the phone, but it soon fell silent. Even the background noise seemed much quieter.

’He must have gone to the bathroom,’ Su Chen figured.

But the very next second, Su Zhuyun’s desperate plea for help came through.

"Xiaochen, you have to come to West Island and save your old man! You have no idea how excited your mom has been. My daily step count hasn’t dropped below thirty thousand! It’s absolutely exhausting."

"I swear, I’m never going on vacation again. This is just pure suffering!"

Hearing Su Zhuyun’s miserable voice, Su Chen wore an expression that said, ’Just as I expected.’

"Ahem... Dad, it’s alright. Just hang in there for two more days." All Su Chen could do was offer some verbal encouragement.

"Two days? I’d be thanking the heavens if it were only two days! We still have a whole week left! Your mom is planning to hit every single tourist spot in all of Hainan!" Su Zhuyun’s voice grew even more pathetic.

Su Chen went silent at this. "Dad... you know what, my signal’s getting bad. I’m gonna hang up now, okay? But hey, if you run into any trouble, remember to give me a call."

Without waiting for Su Zhuyun to reply, Su Chen hastily hung up the phone. He was genuinely afraid that if he kept talking, he would have to go to West Island immediately.

’It’s better to let Dad enjoy this kind of torment all by himself,’ he thought. ’I couldn’t handle it for a second.’

The thought of his father’s plight over the next few days made Su Chen chuckle.

He set his phone to silent, flopped onto the bed... and took a nap!

Meanwhile, on the ferry to West Island, Su Zhuyun stared at his phone, now showing a disconnected call, and shook his head helplessly.

’Sigh... My standing in this family just keeps getting lower and lower!’

......

"Mmm, I feel so much more energetic after a nap!" Su Chen stretched languidly, his whole body feeling relaxed.

He grabbed his phone from beside his pillow and saw that it was only three in the afternoon. He’d been asleep for less than two hours.

He leisurely climbed out of bed, and as soon as he stepped out of his room, he heard Qin Fen and Sicong chatting downstairs. But it wasn’t just their voices; a woman’s was mixed in as well.

’What’s going on?’ Su Chen wondered as he headed downstairs, utterly perplexed.

Reaching the turn in the staircase, he saw a young woman with a stunning figure in a very short schoolgirl-style skirt sitting on the sofa, chatting with Qin Fen. Sicong, who was next to them, would occasionally chime in with a word or two.

The woman was sitting in a spot that directly faced the staircase. When Su Chen appeared, she looked up in surprise, clearly not expecting anyone else to be in the villa.

Qin Fen and Sicong noticed her expression and turned to look at the staircase as well.

"Oh, Old Su, you’re up. Why didn’t you sleep in a little longer?"

"Two hours was perfect. Any longer and I’d just be groggy." As he spoke, Su Chen grabbed a bottle of Fiji water from the fridge and chugged it.

"And this is...?"

As Su Chen approached the sofa, both Qin Fen and Sicong shuffled to the side, making room for him in the middle.

"Sasha," Qin Fen began, winking suggestively. "She provides the best yacht services in Sanya. Has the most connections, and you could say we’re old acquaintances. Old Su, whatever you’re thinking, just say the word. I guarantee she can arrange it."

Su Chen froze for a second before it dawned on him what the beautiful Sasha’s profession was. She was a professional yacht companion—the "atmosphere team," for short.

Su Chen instantly understood what Qin Fen meant by "arrange it," too. He wasn’t particularly interested, though. After all, he had no way of knowing how many other "cars" had been parked in that "garage."

"You guys handle the arrangements." Su Chen didn’t want to be a wet blanket, so he just nodded and went along with it.
