Sylas took a breath and closed his eyes.
"Step behind me." He said coldly.
Cheri's pupils constricted, but she quickly listened.
Dominan thought he was crossing the distance between them with incredible pace, yet somehow a C-tier like Cheri had time to respond to Sylas' words and take a step behind the latter all before the patriarch of the Stormfall Covenant had even managed to reach the halfway point between them.
Space felt like it was extended to infinity, and time slowed to a crawl. It felt like his mind was being stretched to its limits. Though he was sure he was moving just as quickly as he always did, his perception of his movements were dilated to the point it felt like it took him decades just to take a single stride.
He was trapped within his own body.
But he was a Legend. His mind wouldn't collapse that easily.
And Sylas didn't need it to. He never expected to defeat an existence like Dominan so easily. He had managed to take out Ryn because she was caught off guard and the fact she was in close proximity.
In addition, because she was a woman, Sylas' Lust Seed was more than twice as effective against her as it was against Dominan.
Sylas' Lust Seed was a product of evolution, and it was constantly seeking such. He couldn't reproduce with another man. The Lust Seed, thus, simply wasn't as effective in limiting the man.
However…
Since he had chosen to take action, he had no intention of letting things go.
These two guilds had already crossed his bottom line by taking his parents. And now, instead of letting him leave with them, they wanted to block his path…?
In that case…
There was no need for them to continue existing in this world anymore.
Sylas slapped his palms together, his heart beating out of his chest. He pulled and stretched them apart, lightning dancing across his fingertips.
His skin danced with the bolts, his eyes flashing as though they had been completely burned away and consumed by them.
He reached toward his back and pulled the calligraphy brush free, and then he took a step forward.
A curving s-line of black was pulled across the air, the fine hairs of the brush curling with a flicker of his wrist. Runes danced in its wake, a certain elegant beauty following the condensing of Will that formed from it.
Dominan slashed down with his sword, hiding much of his body behind a shield as though to block the effects of the brush.
But the brush seemed to ignore his defenses as though they weren't there at all.
A mark was drawn across his chest, his blade passing through Sylas' body as though the latter was not even there to begin with.
Pa.
Dominan felt as though some part of him had been stripped away, as though it was locked away and sealed deep within him.
His strength plummeted, and all of a sudden time sped up around him once more. Yet, instead of returning to normal, it shot right by it.
This alone wouldn't have been possible without the calligraphy brush which was even further able to help him directly draw onto those hidden layers as well.
That was all to say…
That with this calligraphy brush in hand, there was no existence that Sylas' couldn't seal even with his current Life Seal level so long as he could breach their Wills.
That was something that hardly made any sense at all.
Suddenly, Sylas understood what it felt like to have a powerful weapon in hand. He was so used to relying on only what his body could do alone that he hadn't even properly calculated just what it meant to have this… This brush, even setting aside all the inheritances within it…
Just might be the most powerful benefit the old man had given him.
BANG.
The last head exploded and Sylas just stood in silence, the two guild heads pinned down below and a rain of blood falling from the skies.
However…
He looked off into the distance.
"Let's go." Sylas said.
Without hesitation, he took Cheri by the arm and took a strong step forward. In a flash they had emerged by the Hollow Ship.
