Hands Off The Ice King novel Chapter 58

Chapter 58

Hope’s POV

The girl in front of me was really pretty.

She sat on Levi’s bed, which again, was something he would never allow just anyone to do. During our first meeting, he had literally pinned me against the wall-not sexually-because I accidentally entered the wrong room.

So, the fact that he was letting this pretty woman sit comfortably on his bed meant only one thing.

She was special to him.

A lot more special.

I pinched my thigh because I shouldn’t even let thoughts like that invade my mind.

See?

Aiden and Beth were wrong.

Levi had definitely been in a relationship before.

Although… this girl looked quite young. Like she was still in high school young. But maybe she just had a baby face.

Either way, it was absurd for someone like Levi to actually be single, so I shouldn’t really be surprised.

I was just… quite disappointed. Disappointed that he would kiss me in his daze when he apparently had someone important to him.

Levi handed her a glass of water, and only after she took a sip did she finally speak.

“You’re really not playing?” she asked with a small pout. “You should have at least told me!”

Levi walked toward her and casually patted her head.

My stomach dropped a little. She looked up at him with wide eyes and a tiny pout, somehow making herself look even more adorable. Even though I had only met her a few minutes ago, I could already tell she possessed an unfair amount of

cuteness.

Definitely the complete opposite of my personality.

“And what’s this?” she suddenly asked, turning toward me. “You found yourself a girlfriend?”

My eyes widened. I quickly shook my head.

“It’s not that. I’m his Physical Therapist. The team’s Physical Therapist,” I corrected.

She raised a brow. “Are you sure? You two looked pretty close earlier.”

I nodded fervently. “I was just looking at his injury. There’s truly nothing going on between the two of us. Don’t worry.”

I tried to smile. Unfortunately, it probably came out looking shaky.

She narrowed her eyes. For some reason, that made me nervous. Why was I nervous?

Then suddenly, a huge smile appeared on her face.

Chapter 58

“Why would I be worried?” she asked. “It would actually be great if you two are dating!”

“Huh?”

“I’ve always wanted Levi to date someone,” she continued excitedly. “This is literally the first time I’ve seen him this close to

a woman.”

My brows furrowed.

She… wanted Levi to date someone?

Why?

“Zayla,” Levi sighed while massaging the bridge of his nose. “Cut it out.”

She ignored him.

“Why did you even come here?” he asked. “Did mom even permit you to go?”

“Of course not,” she answered proudly.

I looked at the two of them, trying to figure out what kind of dynamics they had.

“But it was all over the internet that my big bro didn’t play during the previous practice game, so obviously I had to see it myself!”

Big bro?

My thoughts completely stopped.

“I’ye always wanted you to rest and take care of your body,” she continued. “But you should’ve told me! Who convinced you?”

Big bro?

My brain replayed the words over and over again.

Levi had a younger sister?

I slowly looked toward Levi.

At that exact moment, Levi’s gaze shifted toward me. Zayla looked at me too, and a knowing smile slowly appeared on her face. She looked like she was enjoying this far too much.

“I see,” she said slowly. Her smile widened.

“I see, I see.”

“So you guys are not officially dating yet? You’re still in the ‘getting-to-know’ face, huh?”

My brain was still busy processing the sibling revelation. So, unfortunately, I couldn’t deny it immediately. My delayed reaction was enough for Zayla because her grin grew bigger.

When my brain finally caught up to her words, I quickly shook my head.

“We’re not in that kind of relationship,” I denied. “He’s my employer, if you think about it.”

“But my brother hasn’t rested for the longest time,” she pointed out.

Chapter 58

I stayed quiet.

“This man is made of the strongest steel,” she continued. “No one can convince him.”

She pointed at me. “I’m guessing you were the one who convinced him.”

I shifted awkwardly under her gaze.

“That’s because his body is on the verge of breaking down completely,” I explained. “It’s a much needed rest/

My cheeks began heating up the more I explained. This young woman was making me quite embarrassed.

“Well,” she said, gesturing toward Levi, “he can still stand properly, so I’ll take that as a sign that he’s fine.

I stared at her. She smiled brightly.

“Levi would probably play hockey with one leg if he could. So, it just doesn’t explain how he would agree to rest now since the pressure on him is bigger after the Pucks nearly beat them last season.”

I pursed my lips.

Now, I could definitely see now how they were siblings.

They were both unbelievably stubborn.

“Anyway,” she said, suddenly extending her hand toward me. Her smile was huge, her teeth fully visible. Strangely enough, with her smiling like this, she really did look a lot like Levi.

Although, I had only ever seen him smile like this once.

“My name is Zayla Moretti,” she introduced proudly, “and I’m Levi’s prettiest sister”

The revelations just kept coming.

Her last name was Moretti. Beth did mention that Liam and Levi were related, but I didn’t think it would be to this extent.

If Zayla carried the same last name, then Liam and Levi weren’t distant relatiyes. They were most probably close cousins.

“You’re my only sister,” Levi deadpanned. His voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

“True,” Zayla nodded seriously.

Then she added casually, “And I’m not even your full sister.”

Another revelation! They were actually half-siblings? This was all new information to me because Liam’s life had never been revealed to the public. It was quite amazing how he managed to hide it when he was so famous.

“I still wish mom just married your dad, though,” Zayla continued.

Levi visibly stiffened.

“Zayla-”

“Dad freaking sucks.”
