He Gave Me Hearing, Then Taught Me What Silence Really Means novel Chapter 66

Her excuse was absolutely flawless.

But the moment Lydia stepped out of the private room, her forced smile vanished completely.

She questioned the hotel staff and tracked down the private dining room Nelson had occupied.

The room hadn't been cleared yet. The extravagant spread of food was barely touched, but two of the chairs were haphazardly pushed back.

Lydia fought the visceral urge to flip the entire table. Her chest heaved with suppressed rage, her lips pressed into a bloodless line.

She dialed Yvonne Saint, fighting to keep her voice steady.

"Mom, I think I just saw Nelson here at The Sovereign Grand. He was holding Juniper. I don't know if my eyes were playing tricks on me."

Yvonne's brow furrowed sharply. "The Sovereign Grand?"

"Yes. I was having dinner with some friends, and we ran into him by the elevators. He was carrying a woman."

Yvonne's expression turned frigid. After ending the call, she immediately contacted the hotel's general manager and demanded the security footage.

However, the private rooms at The Sovereign Grand didn't have cameras; only the corridors did.

Yvonne watched the corridor footage in silence. The moment she confirmed the face belonged to Juniper, she violently hurled her teacup against the wall.

The delicate porcelain shattered into a hundred pieces, her eyes darkening with lethal intent.

Nelson deposited Juniper into the backseat of the car.

The vehicle sat idly in the hotel's underground parking garage.

Juniper slumped sideways against the plush leather, Nelson's suit jacket still draped securely over her legs.

Nelson climbed in and pulled the door shut, enclosing them both in the spacious backseat.

Her exposed neck was littered with marks; he had already thoroughly claimed his territory back in the private room.

Now, looking at the completely unconscious woman, he reached out, his fingertips lightly tracing the curve of her knee.

The suit jacket had slipped aside.

Juniper frowned in her sleep and blindly slapped his hand with a sharp smack. The back of his hand instantly bloomed red.

She had been tolerating these annoying 'mosquitoes' for far too long.

Nelson retracted his hand. Noting her slightly swollen lips, he ultimately decided against pushing further. Instead, he pulled out his phone and messaged Caleb.
