Adrian POV
I know that Sinclair and Kaia looked into Vorath. But that was in Ironclaw, not here. So why is the council here?
‘Let him d******d everything from the IT servers. There is nothing there. It’s all on my laptop, and the server is an encrypted cloud account that no one has access to, Adrian.’
Aiden is ready to fight with the councilman, but Edgar speaks first. “Alpha Aiden, this is a serious allegation, and we do not take it lightly. If there are illegal breaches, we have to investigate. You will have to hand over all information on your servers.”
I speak up, and I don’t think Aiden was expecting that. “Have your people d******d from our IT servers then. When you are satisfied, then perhaps you can answer our questions. Starting with how Blackstone became the subject of your investigation.”
Aiden looked at me, and he was ready to argue again. Thalia touched his arm, and he immediately calmed down.
‘Sinclair is listening. She said they won’t find anything. Let them investigate.’
Aiden clenched his jaw. “Fine. But this is against pack law, Councilman Edgar. You know it as well as I do,” he said, then turned to me. “Adrian, show these techs to the server room. Stay with them and record everything they are doing. I don’t want any ‘evidence’ being planted. Take the warriors with you.”
“Honestly, Alpha Aiden, that is unnecessary,” Councilman Edgar said.
“Oh, I think it’s VERY necessary. You are accusing my pack of something without any evidence that we have committed a crime. Further, if an investigation was done, and we uncovered corruption, would you still look at us like criminals, or would you thank us for finding the corruption?” Aiden shot back.
I went with the techs to the server room. I was flanked by the four techs that normally work the tech room. I had my link open to Sinclair. Right now, she would be the best person to oversee everything.
‘I’m logging into the surveillance cameras,’ Sinclair said in the link.
‘Have I told you how much I love you, Little Sin?’
‘I never get tired of hearing it, babe.’
‘Well, it’s true. I love the fuck out of you. Thank you for logging in, because I honestly have no idea what I’m looking at.’
Sinclair laughed. ‘So far, it’s a straight d******d, and they are truly going through files. Everything is clearly labeled, and there are no suspicious files, because it truly doesn’t exist.’
