His Wicked Obsession (Archer and Virginia) novel Chapter 144

[Not interested.]

Miles had almost smashed his phone right then and there.

He had never met someone so stubborn!

He assumed Archer rejected him so flatly because he harbored inappropriate feelings for Chloe, which only made Miles feel utterly anxious.

The guy was perfect in every way—at the absolute top of his game professionally, and he took meticulous care of Miles. But when it came to romance, his taste was absolutely atrocious!

But he couldn't exactly just say, 'Chloe isn't right for you; a manipulative fake like her isn't worthy of you.' So, Miles had invited Virginia out, planning to tackle the problem from her end.

And the result was exactly as he hoped: his online bestie was vastly more understanding!

As Miles plotted his next move, he continued to chat and laugh with Virginia.

Before parting ways, they even scheduled a time for their next shopping trip.

...

A few days later, Clementine Sherwood personally picked Virginia up from her clinic after work.

It wasn't until they arrived that Virginia realized the venue was a racing track...

Clementine led her to a custom race car a friend had prepped in advance. She strapped on her racing gloves and glanced over at the passenger seat.

"Ginny, buckle up."

Virginia let out a long breath, tucked her hair behind her ear, and fastened her seatbelt. "When did you learn to race?"

Clementine grinned widely and slammed her foot onto the accelerator.

The roar of the engine was deafening. "Learned it abroad. Hold on tight, Ginny!"

It was a private circuit, quite popular among the elite social circle.

After a few years overseas, Clementine had been itching to get back behind the wheel. The moment she heard there was an event today, she signed up immediately.

Virginia hadn't wanted to come, but Clementine had promised to just take her for a scenic drive. After only a brief hesitation, she had climbed into the car.

The signal lights flashed green.

"Are you okay?" Clementine was startled, gently patting her back in concern.

"...I'm fine. Just need a moment," Virginia replied, taking a deep breath as she fought down a wave of nausea.

Before she could even steady herself, a hand clamped securely around her wrist.

"Come with me!"

Virginia froze for a second. Turning her head, she was met with Archer's fiercely dark expression.

He wore an immaculately tailored dark suit. The cuffs revealed a hint of a pale grey-blue shirt and a string of prayer beads.

An unapproachable, elite figure like him looked entirely out of place here.

Virginia furrowed her brow, trying forcefully to yank her hand away. "Archer, what are you doing?"

But he refused to let go. Instead, his grip tightened as he dragged her toward the Maybach, only stopping once they were well away from the crowd.

"Do you have any idea how many fatal accidents happen on a track like this!?"
