His Wicked Obsession (Archer and Virginia) novel Chapter 339

"Archer..."

As soon as the call connected, Chloe's tearful, pitiful voice came through, sounding incredibly fragile.

"I'm so sorry, I really didn't mean to... I don't know what came over me. The moment Virginia started asking those questions, my mind became a complete mess, and I just couldn't stop myself from lashing out..."

Archer leaned back against the leather seat, crossing his long legs, a flicker of hesitation crossing his dark eyes.

He had absolutely no romantic feelings for Chloe. However, because she had saved his life all those years ago, he always maintained a small degree of compassion for her.

But whenever that compassion clashed with Virginia, the outcome was incredibly obvious.

"You don't need to apologize to me." Archer's tone darkened. His voice was steady, yet laced with an icy distance. "The person you should be apologizing to is Virginia."

The other end of the line audibly choked up.

"If you feel you can't control your emotions, or if you harbor a psychological resistance toward Virginia," Archer paused for a second before continuing, "I will have Zachary contact a different psychologist for you. As for this treatment plan, it ends here."

Chloe fell completely silent.

Her illness had been cured a long time ago. The only reason she faked it was to use her condition to keep Archer tied to her side. But seeing him protect that bitch Virginia so fiercely, she wanted nothing more than to tear Virginia apart with her bare hands. How could she possibly play along and be "treated"?

Archer didn't give her another chance to speak; he simply hung up the phone.

The interior of the car returned to silence.

...

Bayview Manor.

Listening to the dial tone from her phone, the frailty vanished entirely from Chloe's face, replaced instantly by extreme, twisted jealousy.
