I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 310

Both parents eagerly reached out with their forks, but the moment the food hit their mouths, their expressions became complicated.

"How is it?"

"Delicious, absolutely delicious," George said, giving her a rapid thumbs-up.

Sienna knew her own cooking skills well enough. "Tell me the truth."

George looked a bit conflicted. "Are you sure?"

Sienna nodded solemnly. Constructive criticism was the only way to improve.

Alright then, George began. "I think that right after the chef served this to the emperor, he was immediately executed. The emperor never got to eat it again for the rest of his life, which is why it was so unforgettable."

Sienna frowned and pointed to another plate. "What about this one? The Admiral's Omelet. It's super popular online."

Lillian had already put down her fork, formally withdrawing from the tasting panel.

George took a bite and swallowed hard. "It's a good thing this admiral didn't serve this to the emperor, or he would've been executed too, and the dish would've been renamed The Emperor's Folly."

Feeling defiant, Sienna shoved the last plate in front of her father. "Sienna's Glazed Ribs. No one gets executed for this."

George took a look.

The ribs were a bit on the dark side, but they weren't completely charred like those culinary disasters you see on the internet. Besides, how bad could ribs really be?

After tasting them, he realized he had been far too naive.

"If I were the pig who died for this, I'd haunt you."

...

Meanwhile, Jorrod waited for a long time.

When Sienna finally arrived, it was already two in the afternoon.

At the knock on the door, a pale yellow silhouette peeked through the gap.

Seeing her, Jorrod snapped his laptop shut, set it aside, and walked over, smoothly taking the insulated lunchbox from her hands.

Sienna had only planned to check on him, ask about his wound and the infection, and then leave.

But before she could even turn around, a familiar smell wafted through the air.

Jorrod had opened the containers from her lunchbox and laid out a feast on the table.

However, when he was discharged, they still insisted he return to the hospital for frequent check-ups.

The day of his discharge was a Monday evening.

The following afternoon, Director Yates went to Jorrod's office to report on her work. Just as she was leaving, Jorrod suddenly called out to stop her.

Director Yates stood in front of his desk, waiting for her boss to speak.

Jorrod had walked past the Design Department when he arrived that morning, but he hadn't seen anyone.

When he went down earlier, her desk was still empty.

All morning long, there was no trace of her anywhere in the company.

Now, he asked, feigning nonchalance, "Where is Sienna? Is she not in today?"

Oh, so that was it. Director Yates told the truth. "She asked for time off today."

"Time off?" Jorrod looked up. "For what?"

"She submitted her resignation a few days ago. She took today off to pack up her apartment." Director Yates guessed, "She's probably moving out of Aurelia."
