I Loved You in the Dark Until Someone Loved Me in the Light novel Chapter 33

Gillian went completely rigid.

Her immediate thought was that she had just told him she didn't love him anymore, and now he was doing this...

The strong stench of alcohol filled her senses, a harsh reminder that he was completely wasted. How could she take any of this seriously?

He probably had a fight with Hailey and came back here to throw a drunken fit.

With that in mind, she fought frantically to push off the man pinning her down, but his hands began to wander aggressively over her body, sparking a dangerous, agonizing heat.

She couldn't push him off. She felt entirely powerless.

His frantic kisses trailed down her neck, sending uncontrollable shivers down her spine.

His low, husky voice was thick with raw desire. "Darling... I want you."

The hoarse whisper against her ear felt like a bucket of ice water snapping her back to reality.

The 'darling' in his heart had never been her.

Struggling fiercely, Gillian reached out, grabbed the phone from the nightstand, and slammed it hard against York's head.

The phone was heavy enough to deliver a sharp, solid blow.

Taking the hit, York instantly froze. Gillian felt his body go stiff, and the haze in his dark eyes cleared up almost immediately.

He rolled over, sitting on the edge of the bed, massaging his temples as if fighting a massive headache.

"Sorry," his voice rasped.

Gillian's heart felt leaden. She averted her gaze and spoke with frigid detachment. "Stop coming back here to act crazy every time you get drunk. If you can't handle your liquor, don't drink. Doing this makes me seriously doubt if you're actually drunk, or if you just can't touch Hailey because she's pregnant, so you come back to use me as your personal release valve."

Those words caused York's face to darken instantly. "You think I still want to touch you?"
