He handed his phone over.
"Scan my code."
The woman's eyes lit up. She quickly scanned it, added his number, and smoothly slid into the seat next to him, pressing her arm suggestively against his.
Sienna caught the movement out of the corner of her eye.
She turned her head and continued her conversation with Lily, keeping the smile fixed on her face, but her fingers gripped her water glass so tightly her knuckles whitened.
Lily didn't notice.
"Hearing you talk about him, is this Silas Hayes a literal god? How does he know everything? Your family drama, your brother's school... he has it all figured out. Shouldn't a guy with his kind of power be insanely busy?"
Lily was getting completely worked up. "This just proves my point! Those trash men who claim they're 'too busy' are just making excuses. They always find time to play their stupid video games. There's just no comparison."
"Most of the legwork was done by his assistant, Caspar."
Sienna opened her mouth, wanting to clarify the situation, but she had no idea where to even begin.
Lily suddenly smacked her own forehead.
"Oh my god, bestie, this might actually be my fault."
"What do you mean?"
"When I visited you at the hospital a few days ago, that Caspar guy came up to me, said hi, and added my number. And he liked one of my social media posts. The one I posted a few days ago hyping up Isaac's birthday party."
Sienna nodded in realization.
"That explains it. Caspar must have seen the post and relayed it to Silas. That's why he ordered the cake."
Lily rested her chin in her hands.
"Regardless, he is incredibly attentive to you. Bestie, just give in and marry the guy. Being Mrs. Hayes wouldn't be a bad life at all."
Sienna smiled faintly but didn't reply.
She lifted her glass to take a sip, only to realize it was already empty.
The woman sitting next to Finn leaned in even closer. As she looked down at her phone, her long hair tumbled over her shoulder, brushing intimately against his arm.
"Why is your feed completely empty? Did you block me from seeing your posts?"
Finn didn't answer.
