I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 319

"Why are you trying to contact him?" Maeve Thorne's voice came through the receiver, accompanied by the howling of wind.

"Arthur Winston leaked the truth about Finn's parentage. Did you know?"

A few seconds of heavy silence hung over the line.

"Impossible," Maeve replied, her tone absolute. "Arthur would never do that."

"Silas looked into it himself; the intel is solid." Sienna Sterling gripped her phone tighter. "That's why I'm calling you. Can you reach him?"

"I'm in South America." Maeve sidestepped the question entirely. "My flight leaves tonight. We'll talk when I land."

"What time do you arrive? I'll come pick you up."

"Don't bother." Maeve's voice suddenly shifted, turning cool and detached. "You and Finn have nothing to do with each other anymore. As an ex-girlfriend, why are you worrying so much? Focus on your romance with Silas Hayes and prepare to be his wife. Stay out of Finn's business."

Sienna clutched the phone, her knuckles turning white.

"What's wrong? Don't like hearing the truth?" Maeve's tone dripped with faint mockery.

Sienna took a deep breath.

"Fine, consider me out of line. I won't ask about Finn ever again."

She ended the call.

Standing under the dim streetlamp, her hands shook with suppressed frustration.

Dealing with Finn was exhausting enough, but dealing with his biological mother pushed her to the absolute limit.

The next day.

Sienna went to the hospital as usual, running morning rounds and compiling data in the afternoon.

She simply went through the motions, desperate to tune out the explosive online drama.

She buried herself in her work until four o'clock in the afternoon.

"Sienna!"

A tiny figure sprinted down the hallway, her hair tied in adorable twin buns and wearing a pastel green dress. She looked as sweet and soft as a little mint drop.
