Seraphina let out a silent sigh of relief and beamed, completely oblivious to the polite dismissal in Dr. Reed's words.
Dr. Reed added, "You mentioned you were only going to listen from the outside. My seminar has been postponed to next week. You should come, and this time, grab a seat inside."
Seraphina's eyes practically sparkled with greed. "Really, Dr. Reed? Am I really allowed to?"
Dr. Reed nodded. "Of course."
Suppressing her wild excitement, Seraphina quickly replied, "Then please get some rest. I'll come visit you again tomorrow."
Dr. Reed nodded in agreement. "Alright. You've had an exhausting day as well. Head home and get some sleep."
Seraphina flashed a triumphant smile and strutted out of the hospital, her heels clicking sharply against the floor.
She paused at the entrance, smirking proudly to herself. Returning to the Vance Institute of Medical Science, her first priority was hunting down Nora to gloat.
"Dr. Reed personally gave me an admission ticket," she boasted loudly. "Oh my, I heard his seminar was pushed to next week. I just don't know if I'll even have the time to attend."
Nora paused her work at the mention of the name. Looking up, her eyes landed squarely on the exclusive ticket in Seraphina's hand.
She frowned. How on earth did Seraphina get her hands on that?
The tickets to Dr. Reed's seminars were heavily restricted. Every single attendee had to be registered and vetted well in advance. They weren't handed out to just anyone.
Nora had only secured hers because Finnegan had once saved the man's life, prompting Dr. Reed to make a rare exception. So what was Seraphina's excuse? Did Dr. Reed actually acknowledge her fabricated genius?
Seraphina's tone was dripping with arrogance. "What's wrong? Do you think I don't deserve this ticket?"
Nora looked away, her voice cool and detached. "No."
