She handled everything herself-the venue, the setup, the dress. Every detail mattered. This was the biggest moment of her life.

She had waited so long for this. Her dream of marrying into a powerful family had finally co

true.

Agnes, you lost. You’re nothing. Get out, trash!

Hillary laughed to herself, full of pride. From what Raymond had told her, after he came bac from Velmara, he found out Agnes and Neal were still in contact.

Worse, Agnes had tried to stir trouble in the Newton family. She even tried to drive Jillian and her children away to take a share of the family wealth.

That was the last straw. Raymond divorced her. Kicked her out of the house. She didn’t get a single dollar.

Hillary couldn’t be happier with that outcome. The only small flaw was this-even though Raymond had brought her to live in the mansion, he stayed in the master bedroom alone. He had given her a different room.

That night, Hillary dressed up carefully. She walked quietly to the master bedroom door and knocked.

No answer. She pushed the door open. “Raymond? Are you there?”

The lights were on. From the bathroom came the soft sound of running water.

He was showering. Hillary stared at the bathroom door, her heart racing. For a moment, she almost walked in.

Every time she held his arm, even through his clothes, she could feel how strong he was.

She swallowed. Then she adjusted her outfit-lowered the neckline a little, raised the hem of her dress. She lay down on the bed in a graceful, tempting pose, playing with her hair as her mind drifted.

Her eyes suddenly landed on a photo on the nightstand.

She picked up the photo. Her pupils shrank, and her face twisted with disgust as she stared at the two people in it.

It was a picture of Raymond and Agnes, holding each other close, smiling sweetly.

Hillary felt like she was going crazy with jealousy.

She threw the frame into the trash. After the wedding, she would clear this house of anything that reminded her of Agnes.

The bathroom door opened with a soft sound. A light, clean scent drifted out.

Raymond walked out.

His upper body was bare, his muscles firm and strong in a way that drew the eye. A white towe hung loosely around his waist, half covering him.

His hair was still wet. He ran a hand through it casually. His sharp features looked calm and cool, almost distant.

Hillary stared at him, stunned. She forgot all about her anger.

“Why are you here?” Raymond asked, his tone cold.

Hillary walked up and wrapped her arms around him. The feel of his strong body made her feel like she had stepped into heaven.

For years, Harvey had made her keep older men company.

Every time she saw those thick layers of fat, it made her feel sick.

How long had it been since she’d touched young, smooth skin?

“Raymond,” she said softly, “Tonight… can I be yours?”

Something unreadable flashed in his eyes. He gently took her hands off him and led her to the door.

If Agnes didn’t exist, she might have started wondering if something was wrong with Raymond They had known each other so long, and he still hadn’t touched her.

She had already taken the initiative so many times. She knew she looked good. Her figure, her face-she was confident in both.

Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to calm down. It didn’t matter. She had come this far. No need to rush. Sooner or later, they would slept together.

Hillary chose the most luxurious hotel in Grandridge for the engagement party. She booked the entire top floor under the name “Mrs. Newton.”

She had sent invitations to all the major figures in the city well in advance.

On the day of the event, she dressed beautifully. Raymond was supposed to pick her up.

But he said something important came up at work and told her to go to the hotel first and gree the guests.

Hillary felt annoyed. What kind of man stays busy with work on the day of his own engagement? And lets the bride go

alone?

Still, as long as she could marry into his family, she didn’t care.

But when she arrived at the hotel, there were barely any luxury cars outside. Just a few scattered around. Nothing like the lively scene she had imagined.

When she reached the top floor, she was even more surprised. The hall was almost empty. Aside from the staff, there were barely any guests.

What’s going on? This is suppose to be Raymond engagement party. Shouldn’t the place be pack with wealthy and important people?

A man who looked like a manager hurried over with a big smile.
