Love's Unexpected Awakening Elowen's Choice novel Chapter 815

Chapter 815 The Wolf Pendant

Malkor’s first wife in his younger years was named Aguna.

Finis

Born into the old nobility of Nordia, she had vanished during the internal strife of the House of Harrow.

Not many in Kingsport knew the rumors about her. But the Crimson Lantern was deeply tied to the Hou of Harrow, so its guards naturally recognized the name.

The leader’s eyes landed on the man’s face, flashing with suspicion and shock.

“Who exactly are you…”

The man pulled a wolf-head pendant from his coat. Once he was sure they had all gotten a good look, he tucked it away.

“Now, can you get lost?” he asked coldly.

The pursuers’ faces drained of color in unison.

They might not recognize the pendant itself, but the ancient wolf-head crest couldn’t be faked.

Paired with the man’s mention of Aguna just a moment ago, they didn’t dare to block his path.

After all, they were merely watchdogs. They had no business digging into the House of Harrow’s affairs.

The leader forced a smile “Ah, so you’re a nobleman. Pardon my blindness. It’s just that there’s been some trouble at the Crimson Lantern tonight, and Madam Ursula ordered…”

“If Ursula wants to investigate, tell her to ask me herself,” the man cut him off.

With that, he carried the person in his arms and walked straight out.

The pursuers stood frozen in place, none daring to stop him.

Only when they were out of the alley did the man keep his voice low. “Can you stand?”

Flowira didn’t answer. She violently yanked her hand away and stumbled back two steps. Pressing a gold hairpin to her chest, her eyes were full of caution.

“Who are you?”

This man had appeared out of nowhere. His face bore a striking resemblance to Ronan, and he had even scared off the Crimson Lantern’s thugs with a single sentence.

She had no idea who he really was.

Sensing her guard was up, the man didn’t step closer. He simply turned toward the shadows,

“Follow me.”

Flowita stayed put.

The man stopped and looked back at her, a hint of impatience in his eyes.

“Elowen is up ahead.”

Flowira’s head snapped up.

“Who did you say?”

“Lady Elowen,” the man replied.

At those words, the tension gripping Flowira’s body instantly faded by half.

Still clutching the gold hairpin, she finally dragged her injured ankle and followed him step by step.

An inconspicuous carriage was parked at the end of the dark alley.

The moment the curtain lifted. Flowira spotted Elowen right away.

Finis

Even on such a cold, chaotic night, it felt as if she had suddenly been pulled out of that filthy cage and back into the world of the living.

“My lady…”

Flowira’s voice choked up.

Elowen immediately reached out and helped her into the carriage.

“Where are you hurt?”

Flowira had been holding it together, but upon hearing Elowen’s question, her tears fell instantly.

She gripped Elowen’s sleeve tightly. “I thought… I thought I’d never…”

Elowen held her freezing hands.

“You’re safe now.”

Flowira cried even harder, but quickly raised her hand and wiped the tears away fiercely.

“Let’s get out of here first,” Elowen coaxed.

Flowira murmured an agreement. Elowen called out, “Thomas, let’s go.”

Only then did Flowira realize the man who saved her was named Thomas.

Thomas didn’t say a word. He jumped onto the carriage, and it soon weaved through a few dark alleys. heading toward Valessa’s estate.

Valessa had been waiting at the side door early on.

She had been trying to stay calm, but the moment she saw Flowtra step out of the carriage, her eyes immediately turned red.

Flowira!”

Flowira looked up.

“Aunt Valessa…”

Just two words were enough to nearly send Valessa’s tears over the edge. She rushed forward and pulled the girl into a tight hug.

A moment later, she let her go and checked her up and down.

“Where are you hurt? Did they torture you? Did Ronan touch you? Did those b*stards at the Crimson Lantern humiliate you?”

Flowira shook her head.

“No.”

Her voice was still a bit hoarse. “Ronan just locked me up in the Moonlit Pavilion and wouldn’t let me leave. He had me served with good food and drinks, and didn’t allow anyone near me.

The fury in Valessa’s eyes burned hotter.

“Does he actually think he’s being a saint?”

Flowira turned slightly pale.

She lowered her head and stayed quiet for a long time before saying, “He probably really thinks he was protecting me.”

Valessa took a deep breath, barely suppressing her anger.

“Let’s go inside first.”

-The group entered the inner courtyard.

Noah was already waiting in the room.

Seeing Flowira, he didn’t ask much. He simply had her sit down, checked her pulse, and examined the wounds on her wrists and ankles.

“Just flesh wounds. The ankle sprain is a bit severe, but she’ll be fine after a few days of rest.”

Valessa finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But her face quickly grew cold again. “What exactly is going on at the Crimson Lantern?”

Everyone in the room quieted down.

Flowira took a sip of hot water. “I stumbled upon their secret by accident. On the surface, it’s just a brothel. But in reality, it covers up too many shady dealings for the nobles.

“The most terrifying part is the blind courtesans. They pick young women-whether by kidnapping. buying, or tricking them. If the women refuse to submit, they destroy their eyes. Once blinded, they can’t see the customers’ faces or remember who comes and goes. Those people think it keeps things the cleanest
