Samuel fell silent for a moment before answering, “He’s my brother. If I have a pup, he’ll be happy for me.”
“Really? Do you actually believe that yourself when you say it?”
“Why wouldn’t I? He said he hoped my curse would be lifted and that I’d be able to have my own family.”
“Oh, come on,” Griffin muttered helplessly. “That was just polite talk.”
Samuel frowned. “I don’t care whether he meant it sincerely or not. I’m taking it as sincere, and I believe it.”
With that, he ignored Griffin’s continued grumbling in his mind and trotted over to Laila, plopping down beside her.
“Seeing Raymond must have made the Kohlers overjoyed, right?” Samuel asked, trying to start a conversation. Griffin was still ranting in his mind, so he paid it no attention.
Laila recalled what had happened yesterday. “They didn’t believe it at first. But once they saw him, they were thrilled.”
Samuel nodded. “That makes sense. They were also hoping Raymond was still alive.”
“Mm.” Laila smiled and turned to look at him. For some reason, she suddenly thought of Moonlight Academy. She had been so busy taking care of Raymond that she hadn’t asked in detail before. “Your Highness, when you went to Moonlight Academy to inform them of our marriage, what did my mentor say?”
“He hesitated at first, but once my mentor spoke, he had no objections.”
Laila looked surprised. “Really? Mr. Westmark actually listens to your mentor that much? Who is your mentor?”
A mysterious smile appeared on Samuel’s handsome face. “Take a guess.”
“How could I possibly guess-” Laila began, then suddenly paused. She recalled that the academy’s she- devil supposedly had one student under her guidance. That student rarely appeared on campus. Everyone was afraid of that terrifying she–devil and kept their distance, rarely going near Horace Hall. As a result, no one had ever actually met that legendary student.
Back then, she’d even discussed with Viola and the others what kind of person could study under that she- devil.
Now that Samuel mentioned it, Laila suddenly looked up. “Don’t tell me your mentor is Ms. Livingston?”
Samuel froze for a moment. He had planned to tease her a little longer, but he hadn’t expected her to

guess so quickly.
He laughed. “They say you’re clever, and it’s true. You guessed right.”

Laila truly hadn’t expected it. He was actually Greer’s student. No wonder he lived in Horace Hall.
“No wonder you go to Moonlight Academy once every year. No wonder you know the academy so well.”
Samuel shook his head. “Actually, I don’t know it that well. I don’t interact much with the other students under your mentor. I’ve hardly had any contact with your senior Shane or the others.”
Laila asked curiously, “Why don’t you hang out with us?”
Samuel’s handsome face broke into a wide grin. “My mentor wouldn’t allow it. Her exact words were…”
He stood up and clasped his hands behind his back, imitating Greer’s posture. His expression turned stern, his brows drawn together. “Don’t mix with that bunch of losers. That includes Aerith and all his students. None of them is any good. Too noisy.”
Watching his spot–on imitation–even the disdainful tone was identical–Laila couldn’t help laughing. “That’s exactly how Ms. Livingston looks down on us!”
She found it unbelievable. “You’re actually a student of Moonlight Academy. I really never imagined that. So, did you enroll before me or after me? If you enrolled first, then I should call you senior. But if I enrolled first, then you have to call me senior.”
Samuel tilted his head slightly, smiling as he looked straight at her, but he said nothing.
Laila waited a moment. When he still didn’t respond, she couldn’t help but urge, “Hey, I’m asking you.”
