“What?”

Laila stared at Morgana, completely confused by the sudden statement.

Live here?

Why?

Is she really going to fight me for Raymond?

But Morgana did not offer any further explanation.

She merely said, “I think it’s more comfortable here. I like it here.”

After saying that, she lifted her chin and looked at Laila, as if this was some great favor she was granting her.

Laila didn’t know how to react, but she did not refuse. “Fine, you can stay here as long as you want.”

“Okay.”

Morgana gave a proud nod, then turned and left.

The moment she turned around, she immediately pressed a hand to her chest.

It hurt.

But after hearing Sara’s story, she understood just how hard Laila’s life had been. She felt bad for her.

Despite that, Morgana couldn’t just step aside and let Laila have Samuel without a fight.

So the only thing she could do was stay with Silvermoon Pack and compete with Laila fairly.

Laila did not worry about it for long. She had plenty of money. One extra mouth to feed would not hurt her.

She just wondered how Samuel would react once he found out Morgana wanted to live with the Silvermoon Pack

But that would have to wait until he returned safely from Ovila.

In Simonne Town, Blake, the man in charge of the negotiations, had just about reached his limit. They had met five times, but Ovila’s marshal, Victor, refused to give even an inch. He insisted they hand over Simonne Town in exchange for Cottontail.

Now, he was demanding an entire city in exchange for Cottontail’s life.

If Samuel had not arrived a few days ago and told him to stall, Blake would have stormed out by now.

Blake wanted to end the talks right then and there. The problem was that he could not find Samuel anywhere.

King Vaughn had appointed Samuel as the lead negotiator, so Blake had to discuss it with him.

After the day’s negotiations ended, Blake went to Samuel’s aide, Finneas.

“Where is Prince Vance right now? Don’t tell me he’s hiding because he doesn’t want to take responsibility if the negotiations fail?” Blake asked bluntly.

Although Samuel was King Vaughn’s younger brother, Blake was the one currently in command of the kingdom’s army. He was not afraid of offending Samuel.

Finneas frowned. “Of course not. His Highness is probably busy with something.”

Before Samuel left, he had told Finneas that he would find a way to sneak into the Ovila Kingdom and rescue Cottontail.

However, Finneas couldn’t tell Blake that.

Blake was a hothead. If he knew the truth, he would easily become arrogant and careless during the negotiations.. Victor would notice that at once.

Victor had spent years on the Vagen battlefield. He was not a simple man. He was fierce, cautious, sharp, and suspicious. Blake was no match for him.

“Busy with something of his own? What could be more important than the negotiations?” Blake grew even more displeased. He looked at Finneas and released a small amount of Alpha pressure. “Be honest with me. Do you know where Prince Vance is or not?”

Finneas withstood the pressure and answered, “Marshal Langley, I truly don’t know where His Highness is right

now.”

Blake stared at him for a long moment before finally withdrawing his Alpha pressure.

Of course, he knew Finneas was hiding something. But Finneas was not the enemy. Blake couldn’t torture him for

answers.

He was just angry that none of them treated him like their Marshal.

They might call him Marshal, but when something actually happened, every single one of them looked to Samuel

and followed his orders.

The more Blake thought about it, the angrier he became.

“He said coldly, “Since I can’t find him, I’ll make the decision myself, I’ve already written to King Vaughn and

informed him of Prince Vance’s disappearence. The letter should arrive in about seven days. So, in seven days, 1 will tell Victor that Prince Varice does not agree to his terms. Unless he is willing to change them, there will be no further talks. As for Cottontail; they can do whatever they want with him.”
