Chapter 65 Make Up?
Laila’s POV:
can feel that bastard Holt’s scent. He’s right outside the tent.”
Before dawn, Nita’s voice echoed in my mind, full of annoyance.
I frowned. It was so late. What was he doing walking around outside my tent?

“Who cares what he wants! Let’s rush out and fight him! I’ll bite all the fur off his wolf!” Nita bared her teeth and shouted.
“Just ignore him. He’s probably here to ask for healing medicine for Maris.”
I didn’t even open my eyes. I had already heard that Samuel had ordered the army medics not to give Maris any fast–healing medicine.
I really didn’t hold back that day. Maris was probably badly hurt.
But come to me for medicine?
No way!
After I stopped paying attention to Holt’s scent, I quickly fell asleep.
When I woke up the next morning, no one was outside anymore.
Viola and the others hadn’t even noticed that Holt had come.
I didn’t tell them either. After breakfast, we split up and went to our own training.
For the next few days, I focused on training the armored war wolves. I didn’t have the mood to think about anything else.
Sometimes at lunch, I would run into Holt. He would stare at me in a daze, but he still had some sense. He never came over to
bother me.
At noon that day, I saw him again.
Manis wasn’t there. He was alone.
“Ugh, him again.” Viola rolled her eyes and pulled me to sit on the other side.
“Hey, Laila, why do I feel like your ex–mate regrets it? Maybe he wants to get back together with you?” Stick sat down too and squinted as he spoke.
So, Laula, would you make up with him?” Manu asked in a curious voice.
The moment he said that, I noticed Holl’s ears pricked up fast
Before could answer, Chase spoke for me first.

He patted my shoulder as he asked, “Am I right, Laila?”
Over there, Holt leaned half his body toward us
The soldiers nearby who were eating all had their ears up
The air around us froze. Even the small sounds of forks and plates touching disappeared.
I looked straight at Holt. His pupils had tightened without him even noticing. My voice wasn’t loud, but it was clear ensugs for every listening ear to hear.
“I remember… on the day we ended the mate bond, someone said to me, I never regret the choices I make.
I raised my voice a little, making sure even the shadowed corner over there could hear. “Major General Enclaw, you said that right?”
“Whoa…”
The quiet talk in the whole dining hall burst out like water hitting hot oil.
Many soldiers didn’t even pretend anymore. They turned to look at us, their eyes shining with excitement, ready to watch the drama.
Holt froze in that leaning position. It even looked a little awkward.
His jaw was tight, the muscles in his cheek twitching. Under his sun–browned skin, a faint flush of embarrassment showed.
Under everyone’s eyes, with so many people waiting for his answer, he almost ground his teeth as he forced that one word out a
his throat.
“Yes.”
“Wow!”
Someone from a corner let out a long, teasing shout, followed by a few muffled laughs and a ripple of whispering
Chase winked at me proudly and added fuel to the fire. He raised her voice and said, “Listen to that! Never regret The franging around Laila every few days now? Isn’t he just making a fool of himself? Our Major General Contay’s patti is ful the sea. Any old obstacles should’ve been kicked aside long ago!”
Holt suddenly stood up straight. The legs of his chair were screeching against the floot
He didn’t say one more word, He turned and walked out fast. His boots hit the grount heavy and quick, like he wanted to stompa hotenrough the floor
