After leaving the hospital, Noelle sat in her car and watched as Ivy walked out with Mia by her side. Then, she checked her phone and texted Cedric, "I'm off work today."
Cedric replied instantly, "Let's have dinner tonight. I'll pick you up."
"I'll go to you instead. It's the end of the year—you must be swamped."
Noelle had been busy with work lately, too, so she and Cedric hadn't had much time to see each other, let alone nurture their relationship. Besides, he was probably even busier than she was. With that in mind, she drove to Greene Corporation.
Mia had already successfully gotten closer to Ivy's side. So far, the latter hadn't suspected anything, and everything was going according to plan.
When Noelle arrived at Greene Corporation, Cedric was still in a meeting. She sat in his office chair, relishing the feeling of being in charge for once.
Tilly knocked and entered to give them a report. "Ms. Liddell, we received news from Pineview Psychiatric Hospital that Xenia's condition has worsened. She even attempted suicide by cutting her wrists a few days ago."
Noelle exclaimed in shock, "Has she really lost her mind?"
She had never quite believed that the bitch would actually have mental problems. In her previous life, she'd been locked up in a mental hospital; this time, it was Xenia's turn.
Was this karma? A faint smirk tugged at the corner of her lips as she replied, "Got it. That's exactly the kind of karma a manipulative bitch deserves."
Tilly continued, "Xenia's treatment isn't showing any improvement, and she keeps demanding to see you. This suicide attempt was also because she wanted to use it as leverage to force a meeting with you."
"See me?" Noelle snorted coldly. "I have nothing to say to a lunatic."
Xenia had no value to her anymore. Once Ivy was arrested, everything would be over.
"Don't worry, Ms. Liddell. We've already identified the accounts where Ivy transfers her stolen money, as well as all the channels she uses for money laundering. We'll definitely be able to catch them all in one fell swoop."
"Good. That's exactly what I needed to hear." Noelle moved to the couch and waited for Cedric to finish his meeting.
Just then, her phone lit up with a call. She was shocked to see Carl's name, especially since they hadn't been in much contact since the Mia situation.
