"Are you serious?" Iris Yates asked, nervous and excited, her eyelashes trembling uncontrollably.
William Quinn kissed her ear. He found her earlobe so adorable he couldn’t resist sucking on it for a moment before he spoke. "As long as you obey me."
Iris Yates’s entire body went rigid. She gritted her teeth and finally asked, "What do you want me to do?"
A flicker of excitement appeared in William Quinn’s blue eyes. "Say you love me."
Iris Yates bit her lip, hesitating. Then, as if deciding to just get it over with, she opened her mouth to speak.
But in the next instant, William Quinn suddenly kissed her, silencing her.
"Mmph..."
Iris Yates looked utterly confused.
’What does he mean?’
’Doesn’t he want to hear it anymore?’
After a long moment, he released her and said in a raspy voice, "How about you take the initiative this time, baby?"
Iris Yates was breathing raggedly. "You’re changing the terms?!"
William Quinn wrapped his arms around her, pressing his cheek intimately against hers. "When you truly fall in love with me, you’ll say it on your own," he said. "I won’t have to ask."
Iris Yates sneered inwardly. ’At least he’s self-aware.’
But then, as she thought about the new condition he’d proposed, another wave of sorrow washed over Iris Yates.
She still had an ice pack on her eyes. The cold sensation seeped through, gradually chilling her heart as well.
She hesitated for less than a minute before saying, "Fine. I agree."
William Quinn kissed her. "Such a good baby."
He held her tightly, forcing her to feel his body heat. It was frighteningly hot.
William Quinn immediately got up and followed, his blue eyes glued to her.
"Baby, why are you still upset?"
William Quinn kept his eyes fixed on her face, wanting to see her smile.
Iris Yates turned and gave him a look. "If a stranger kidnapped you, took you to a foreign country, and kept you in a cage for this long, would you be happy?"
A forlorn look appeared on William Quinn’s exquisite, angelic face. "But we do know each other. We’ve known each other for a long time."
Iris Yates’s expression hardened. "If I had a choice, I would never have wanted to meet you. As far as I’m concerned, it was just an accident."
"But to me, it wasn’t an accident," William Quinn said with the utmost gravity. "It was fate, predestined by the heavens for us to meet and be together."
Iris Yates rolled her eyes. "To hell with your fate."
William Quinn stared at her red lips. "Baby, you’re even cute when you’re cursing."
