Reborn: Apocalypse Ready. War Goddess by My Side novel Chapter 127

Chapter 127 The Ambush

The students immediately scattered and hurried back to their spots to continue training.

But deep down, they were still completely shocked.

The fact that Steven had been able to fight Wendy to that extent was absolutely monstrous!

His three roommates no longer even wanted to talk.

The gap between them was far too huge.

The key was that this guy worked insanely hard too, evolving during the day and evolving again at night.

What exactly was he trying to do?

It looked like they needed to work harder as well, or they would end up falling way too far behind Steven.

Wendy glanced at Steven, a faint smile appearing on her face.

“From what I can tell right now, there really isn’t much left for me to teach you. Your spearsmanship is already mature, and it even carries some of the flavor of my Tyrant Spear style.”

Steven smiled. After all, in his previous life, he had learned it from her too.

Wendy said, “Since that’s the case, I won’t interfere with you anymore. Come whenever you want. If you want me to spar with you, just ask. If you don’t come, then make your own arrangements. Whether you want to evolve or do whatever else, that’s up to you.”

Steven smiled and nodded. That arrangement suited him perfectly.

Wendy continued, “The low–level combat techniques here really aren’t suitable for you. After I get back today, I’ll help you apply for something better and see if I can get you a level 3 combat technique.”

Steven smiled and nodded. “Then thank you very much, Ms. Franklin.”

Wendy smiled and shook her head. “I’m your teacher. This is all part of my job. Actually, I’m a little curious who taught you all this?”

The two walked side by side.

Steven scratched his head.

“My… grandfather! Yeah, my grandfather taught me.”

At this point, Steven could only make something up.

There was really no good way to explain it.

Wendy nodded. “Then your grandfather must’ve been an incredible spearsmaster in the past. When I get the chance someday. I’d like to pay him a visit.”

“Huh?!”

Steven froze in shock.

“Ms. Franklin… um… my grandfather’s just a regular old man. He’s not that capable. He was basically just copying what he’d seen when he taught me.”

Wendy shook her head. “Your spearsmanship is absolutely polished. Honestly speaking, among our teaching staff, some of the Three–Sigil Divine Adepts teaching the C–rank classes might not even have spear techniques as refined as yours. So your grandfather must be an extraordinary expert. You just don’t realize it yourself.“

Steven could only laugh bitterly. Great, now his lie had gotten way out of hand.

“I…

“Alright, you don’t need to explain anymore. I’ll only visit when the time is right.”

Steven gave up trying to explain and could only think about messaging his grandfather later so the old man could cooperate a little if needed.

Wendy continued supervising the other students‘ training.

Steven walked off to the side with a bitter smile and sat down.

He decided not to think about it anymore and took out a divine crystal to evolve.

But it was not long before girls kept coming over to him.

“Steven, hi. My name’s Celia Howell. Can we get to know each other?” the girl asked shyly.

Steven opened his eyes.

He looked at the somewhat bashful girl in front of him.

Steven smiled lightly. “Hi.”

Celia shyly said, “Can I add you on StarComm?”

He actually already had a girlfriend

The person displayed on it was Steven.

“It’s him, right?”

“Yeah! That’s definitely him!”

All three looked somewhat surprised. They had not expected to run into him this easily.

It saved them a lot of trouble.

The man in the middle, Baz Benson, let out a cold laugh. “Since we found him, this just got simple.”

The young man on the left hesitated for a moment. “We’re really going after him directly? Mr. Reed never explicitly told us to.”

Baz said, “What? You think dealing with a nobody like him requires Mr. Reed to dirty his own hands? Isn’t his meaning already obvious enough? If we can’t even handle something this small for Mr. Reed, then we shouldn’t even be following him anymore. Why are you hesitating now? Besides, it’s not like we’re killing him.”

The young man on the left nodded. “Alright! Let’s do it!”

The determination in all three of their eyes hardened.

They turned around and followed after Steven in the distance.

The three of them walked slightly faster than Steven, gradually closing the distance between them.

Steven walked into a secluded area where there was basically no one around.

Baz and the other two exchanged glances before suddenly rushing forward.

Steven had not paid much attention at first, but very quickly, the three men rushed in front of him and blocked his path.

Steven glanced at the three of them.
