Jensen groaned inwardly. A major purge was coming.

Three days passed in silence.

Everyone’s injuries had stabilized.

Uriah and Mason still had not woken up. They remained unconscious.

Alan had also regained consciousness.

The exhaustion ran so deep he didn’t even want to move.

But he still had to check on his teammates.

Everyone had gathered around Steven’s bed.

Steven’s entire body was still burning hot.

Peter said, “This guy is not going to have a problem, is he? It has already been three days, and he still has not woken up.”

He had barely finished speaking.

The scorching heat radiating from Steven’s body began to fade.

Darlene cried out, “His temperature is dropping!”

Everyone immediately looked over.

Inside Steven’s consciousness space.

The red light vanished, and the pain disappeared with it.

“Damn it, this conversion took forever. It almost killed me.”

Steven grumbled under his breath, but his mind felt clear and full of energy.

He opened his Attribute Panel and took a look.

Steven’s eyes went wide.

“Holy shit! It converted that much?!”

Steven was stunned. It looked like his deep slumber had lasted far longer than he had anticipated.

The root cause of his inability to wake up sooner was undoubtedly the beast crystal he had swallowed.

If he were to estimate its remaining potency, it easily still held around 50 to 60 percent of its original

energy.

He had burned through a great deal of it during the battle, and the strain on his body had been enormous.

Swallowing it had been a dangerous gamble, but he had done it to force himself into a fight to the death, leaving himself no way to retreat.

As long as the beast crystal remained inside him, and as long as he still had strength, he had to keep fighting.

That remaining 50 to 60 percent of energy had tormented him for the past few days.

Most of the energy had gone into filling the emptiness inside his body.

That felt incredible.

Good lord, it still hurts. He was sore everywhere.

Everyone laughed and rolled their eyes.

Steven was fine. That was all that mattered.

Peter smacked him on the head.

“Who the hell wants to kiss you? Shameless brat.”

Steven smiled. “As long as you grown men do not kiss me, we are good. Darlene and the other ladies are another story.”

Peter cursed, “Darlene is mine!”

Darlene slapped Peter aside. “This has nothing to do with you.”

Steven looked at his teammates. They were all still alive and well–that was good.

A faint smile appeared on Alan’s face as well.

Steven asked, “Captain Greenwood, you did not injure your foundation, did you?”
