Chapter 311 The Ambush
Abigail’s face slowly twisted with cruelty.
“Good. Hit him hard. Beat him half to death, then drag him to me.”
“On it, Ms. Read!”
Abigail quickly added, “Start a livestream! I want to watch! I’ll give the orders myself!”
“Yes, Ms. Read!”
“Send Spencer’s men in first. No need for us to get our hands dirty if we don’t have to.
“Understood! Ms. Read, everything has already been arranged.”
But the very next second, a furious voice exploded not far behind her.
“Abigail! Are you fucking setting me up?!”
Spencer rushed over. The moment he heard what Abigail said, he completely lost his temper.

He finally understood. This woman was planning to use his people to do her dirty work, then walk away without taking any blame.
Abigail’s expression froze.
“Oh? My dear brother, what brings you here?”
Spencer’s face darkened with anger. “If I hadn’t come, you’d have pushed me straight into a trap! Real nice move. Sending my men in first, huh?
“And I’m supposed to take all the blame?”
Abigail smiled. “Why are you making such a big deal out of it? What’s yours is mine, too.
“And cut the crap with the cursing.”
Spencer was so angry he felt like he might explode.
“Have your people join in too. Otherwise, I’ll pull mine out right now.”
Abigail’s face darkened. “Seriously? Do you really have to be like that?”
“Yes!” Spencer snapped, glaring at her.
“Hurry up! Or I’ll pull my people out right now.”
Abigail was furious.
“You idiot! Fine! You win!”
Abigail let out a cold snort and turned to her men.

“You all go in too. Make sure everything is clean and leave no trace. If eight Three–Sigil Awakened still manage to mess this up, I’ll feed every one of you to my teddy bear!”
The people surrounding Steven’s house instantly went pale.
Damn. Why was being a hired thug so hard? Not only did they have to worry about the mission, but they also had to worry about their own backsides.
They got ready to move. For the sake of their own survival, they would go all out.
Steven just reached Divine Awakening recently. There was no way this could go wrong.
Abigail looked at Spencer.
“Why’d you come here anyway?”
Spencer snorted. “I checked the locations of my idiot men and immediately knew you were up to something. Trying to set me up?”
Abigail waved her hand dismissively. “Oh, come on. Why are you being so stingy? It’s not like I’d get you killed.”
Spencer shot her a fierce glare.
“You’d better be careful. The trouble I caused last time involved the expert living next door to this guy. I’m here to warn you.”
Abigail rolled her eyes. “You think I’m as stupid as you? Playing all those little schemes?
“He’s a nobody. We kill him and we’re done.”
Spencer snorted. “I think you’re the stupid one. If I hadn’t cut off all the surveillance cameras in this area, you’d be walking straight to your death!”
Abigail ignored him and focused on the video feed from her subordinates.
Steven had finally appeared.
Abigail spoke into her earpiece. “Wait until he’s a little farther from the house. Then move. Don’t hesitate.”
On the screen, Steven walked out of the yard carrying a bag of trash.

Eight A–Rank fighters thought they could kill me?
This guy was finally going to die!
There were actually this many attackers!
Even so, she forced herself to stay calm and wait.
The moment the eight men rushed out, their eyes were filled with killing intent.
Every one of them had hidden their real appearance.
To them, dealing with a guy who had only recently awakened was complete overkill.
They were sure they could take him down in an instant.
None of them took him seriously.
They had done jobs like this countless times before and worked together perfectly.
The plan was to cripple Steven with a single strike.
The distance between them and Steven shrank to just a few yards.

In the blink of an eye, they would be on top of him.
But at that exact moment, a spear suddenly appeared in Steven’s hand.
A sharp light flashed in his eyes.
In an instant, the power of his Wind–Fire Divine Sigil surged.
Flames burst to life, lighting up the area.
Steven shouted, “Get lost!”
Fire wrapped around the Dragon Spear.
Then he swept it out in a fierce, powerful arc.
The eight attackers were still looking down on him.
But the instant the spear struck the first man, his eyes nearly popped right out of his head.
