When she returned to the hospital room, she found her mom dozing, slumped over the side of the hospital bed.
She walked over and gently shook her awake. "Mom, go sleep in the other bed."
This was a nice hospital room; it came with a cot for visitors.
Mrs. Fu immediately said, "You go sleep. I’ll just rest my head here for a bit."
’I don’t have a job to go to, so why do I need a proper sleep?’
Fu Mingxue didn’t waste words arguing. She simply pulled her mother up and pushed her onto the cot.
"You’re older. Go to sleep."
Mrs. Fu: ...?
’I’m not seventy or eighty yet. How am I old?’
She shot the brat an annoyed glare. ’Not a single nice word out of her mouth all day long.’
Fu Mingxue returned to the main hospital bed to watch over her two children.
In the dead of night, she ended up holding her little daughter as they slept together.
Mrs. Fu had woken up during the night, intending to give her bed to her daughter.
But when she saw her daughter already asleep holding the child, she simply lay back down.
「The next day.」
Mrs. Fu woke up early.
Seeing that her daughter and the two children were still asleep, she decided to lie still in bed so she wouldn’t wake them.
She lay there until six o’clock.
Fu Mingxue woke up around the same time.
She reached out and felt the forehead of the child in her arms. Discovering she wasn’t feverish anymore, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Then, she got out of bed.
"Mom, you’re awake too?"
Mrs. Fu: ...?
’I’ve been awake for ages.’
"How are the children?"
"They’re fine. Their fevers have broken. It looks like they’re going to be okay."
Last night was terrifying.
