Just as Fu Mingxue was playing with the two kids, Mrs. Fu finished boiling the dumplings.

She brought over a large platter.

"Stop playing. It’s time to eat."

Fu Mingxue looked down at the two kids.

She walked to the table and sat down. "Mom, these dumplings smell incredible! The aroma is making my head spin. By the way, what’s for dinner tonight?"

Mrs. Fu rolled her eyes at her. "You haven’t even finished this meal, and you’re already thinking about the next one. What’s gotten into you?"

Fu Mingxue chuckled.

She picked up a dumpling and took a bite, and her eyes lit up. "Mom, is this sauerkraut and pork? It’s amazing!"

She much preferred these sauerkraut and pork dumplings to the all-pork ones.

They were exceptionally delicious.

Just as she was enjoying her meal, there was a knock on the door, followed by Director Xie’s voice.

"Fu Mingxue, are you home?"

Fu Mingxue was confused.

’Why am I hearing Director Xie’s voice?’

"You just focus on eating. I’ll go check," Mrs. Fu said, heading for the door.

She opened the main gate and saw that it was indeed Director Xie. A wide smile immediately spread across her face. "Director Xie! Are you looking for my Mingxue? Please, come in. She’s just having a meal."

Director Xie was a bit taken aback.

’Isn’t it a little early for dinner?’

He didn’t voice his thought, however, and walked straight into the courtyard.

Seeing him enter the courtyard, Fu Mingxue felt it would be rude to keep eating.

So she stood up and went outside. "Director Xie, what brings you here?"

Director Xie didn’t want to waste her time and got straight to the point. "We have a fighter jet with a faulty engine. The other experts have tried to fix it, but with no success. I immediately thought of you. I was wondering if you could come take a look?"

Fu Mingxue was bewildered.

’What fighter jet? Does this unit even have fighter jets? How come I’ve never seen one?’
