"Group Leader Fu, I hear you’re heading to Beijing City on business tomorrow?"
Fu Mingxue glanced at Gu Zhen and saw he was genuinely curious.
’It’s not like it’s a secret.’
So she nodded. "Yes."
"I hear you’re going there to teach? To lecture university students?" Gu Zhen asked, seeking confirmation.
His eyes sparkled as he looked at Fu Mingxue.
His eagerness to know was written all over his face.
Fu Mingxue gave him a wry smile. "You sure seem to ’hear’ a lot of things!"
"Heh heh, it’s just that I heard how incredible you are, and I can’t help but be impressed. Good heavens, I never would have guessed you also teach at Beijing University."
He was genuinely envious of the man who married Fu Mingxue.
’How many good deeds must that guy have done in his past life to be so lucky in this one?’
Fu Mingxue was left speechless.
She found this man much more agreeable than Li Zhao, who was standing there like a statue.
"That’s right, I’m going to teach. You know, you could teach as well, if you wanted. With your theoretical knowledge, you’re more than qualified."
Gu Zhen was taken aback.
’Us? Me?’
’Get real!’
"I’m not cut out for that."
"Right. Group Leader Fu, does this mean we won’t see you again until next year?"
"I’ll be back after the New Year." ’Besides, whether we see each other or not... is that really important?’
’Are we that close?’
Throughout this exchange, Li Zhao hadn’t said a word. He just listened.
Fu Mingxue’s time was precious; she wasn’t about to waste it on idle chatter.
After this short break, she began the joint meeting for the two groups.
From Li Zhao’s special materials team, only he and Gu Zhen were in attendance.
As the meeting began, their expressions turned serious.
It had to be said, Fu Mingxue really was remarkably well-rounded. The points she raised about material innovation were crucial.
Some were things that even Li Zhao hadn’t considered.
An hour later, Li Zhao and Gu Zhen left. The next session was a discussion exclusively for her Group Six.
