Fu Mingxue agreed and then left Director Zheng’s office.
Just as she was about to walk out the main door, Principal Wu suddenly remembered something.
So he called out to Fu Mingxue.
"Teacher Fu, wait a moment. Do you remember Director Liu from the First Auto Factory?"
Fu Mingxue turned her head. "Of course, I do. What is it?"
"I ran into him yesterday, and he asked about you. He said if you came back to the school, you should pay a visit to his factory when you have time. He didn’t say what it was about, though."
Fu Mingxue nodded. "Alright, I understand."
She definitely didn’t have any time right now.
When she got to her office, she found the books sitting on her desk.
Fu Mingxue flipped through them—then packed up a few books she needed to take back with her.
Not wanting to waste any more time at the school, she grabbed the books and walked out of her office.
Just as she was heading to the bike shed to get her bicycle, a pleasantly surprised voice called out from behind her.
"Teacher Fu!"
Hearing someone call her name, Fu Mingxue turned around.
It was Song Zhaodi.
She was running towards her, her face alight with excitement.
"Teacher Fu, it really is you! I thought I was mistaken just now, so I didn’t dare to call out!"
Fu Mingxue looked the young woman over.
They hadn’t seen each other for just one semester, but the change in her was immense.
The clothes that were once covered in patches had been replaced with clean, new ones.
Moreover, her once thin and gaunt face had filled out.
It seemed that working while attending school had brought about a significant change in her life.
Not only had she become prettier, but her face now held more smiles and confidence.
