Reborn Rich: Prices Dropped, My Savings Didn't novel Chapter 70

Chapter 70: Chapter 70: I’ll Take Care of All of You

Yvonne Sterling smiled with pleasure as she listened to the mother and daughter bicker.

"Jasmine, I think Cecilia is right. Both she and Lily are able to earn money now, so you don’t have to work so hard anymore. In just over half a year, once Ethan is done with his college entrance exams, you’ll be able to completely relax and enjoy life."

Her older sister had been working nonstop for most of her life, rarely living for herself. As her younger sister, it pained Yvonne to watch.

Both of her nieces had turned out so well, making all of Jasmine’s years of hard work and sacrifice worthwhile. It really was time for her to stop and enjoy life.

With her aunt backing her up, Cecilia was emboldened and chimed in, "See, Mom? My aunt is on my side."

But after they both spoke for a while, Jasmine didn’t respond at all.

They both turned to look at her and found her eyes gently closed and her breathing even. She was fast asleep.

At that moment, watching her mother sleep, Cecilia’s expression softened. ’How long has it been since Mom was able to sleep so soundly, truly relaxed in body and mind?’

Yvonne let out a soft sigh. "Your mom has been through so much over the years," she said to Cecilia. "You have to take good care of her from now on."

Cecilia felt a sting in her nose and nodded gently.

The full spa treatment lasted two and a half hours. Afterward, they all felt much lighter, and their skin looked more radiant than usual.

"Jasmine, I have to say, no wonder this is where wealthy women come. The effects are so obvious after just one treatment." Yvonne stroked her smooth skin while looking in the mirror, then smiled at Jasmine. "Look at you! The sallowness in your face is gone. Your skin is so fair and radiant."

Jasmine nodded in agreement. The results were plain to see.

"The best thing about the treatments here is the immediate results, but to fundamentally improve your skin, you have to come regularly," Cecilia said, then looked at her mother and urged, "Mom, since the money is already on this card, you and Aunt Yvonne should come here often to relax. Don’t be reluctant to use it. It’s not like we can get a refund."

Speaking of the card, now that it was just the three of them in the private room, Jasmine couldn’t help but say, "Cecilia, you put a million yuan on a membership card... That’s far too extravagant."

"It’s not that much. Your daughter has money, you know. Besides, if I hadn’t made a bold move, how could I have shut that man’s mouth?"

Jasmine shook her head, exasperated. "It’s not easy for you to earn money. It would be much better to save it for an emergency. There’s no need to try and one-up people like him."

’If we hadn’t run into him today, I would’ve completely forgotten a person like Evren Lynn even existed.’

Cecilia knew her mother was used to being frugal. Casually dropping a million yuan on a card was definitely outside her normal concept of spending, but that was exactly the mindset Cecilia wanted to change.

And she wasn’t going to do it slowly. She intended to be direct and aggressive about it, to make her mother rapidly accept a lifestyle where she didn’t have to worry about money.

After Ethan’s college entrance exams, she planned to move her mother to Lorcain. Once they were living in a villa and driving luxury cars, her mother should be able to spend money by her side without a second thought.

So now, whenever she got the chance, she was going to deliver a little shock to her mother’s perspective on spending.

"Mom, stop worrying about this. I’m not reckless. What’s the point of earning money if you don’t spend it? The more you earn, the more you spend. The fact that I can spend this much is just proof that I earn even more."

"It’s not like I earned two hundred yuan and spent one hundred on a spa card, right? I’m not an idiot!"

"I’m crying because I’m happy," Jasmine said, taking the tissue to wipe her tears. She wanted to say more but didn’t know what. Instead, she just squeezed her daughter’s hand and grinned foolishly.

Cecilia took the opportunity to say, "Now do you see why I don’t want you to keep looking for a job? You’ve already worked yourself to the bone to provide for us. That was hard enough, but we had no choice back then. Now that I’m earning money, how can I feel at ease watching you kill yourself serving others every month for a meager salary?"

Jasmine nodded in understanding. "I get it. I know."

Yvonne also wiped away a tear, feeling both relieved for her sister and, admittedly, a little envious.

But in the next moment, Cecilia turned to her and said, "Aunt Yvonne, now that you know what I’m capable of, I’ll be direct. Once Ethan gets into a university in Lorcain, I’m moving my mom there. If you and Uncle Bernard want to come to Lorcain then, I’ll bring you both over, too. Whether you want to open another char siu shop or start a different business, I’m willing to help."

"Oh, you sweet child." Yvonne was deeply moved, but she said, "Your uncle and I are doing just fine now. The shop has a lot of repeat customers, and business is much better than it was a few years ago. We’re not looking to get rich. As long as you take good care of your mother, that’s all your aunt could ask for."

"I can’t just take care of my mom. If it weren’t for you and Uncle Bernard helping out all these years, who knows how much more she would have suffered. We saw everything you did," Cecilia said, grasping her aunt’s hand and looking at her earnestly. "So, Auntie, I’ll take care of my siblings, and I’ll take care of you and Uncle Bernard, too."

Her words sent the already emotional Yvonne into a fresh flood of tears, though she was smiling when she spoke. "Look what you’ve done to your aunt. You’ve made me cry off all the skincare products I just had put on."

Jasmine laughed too. "Cecilia’s right. Thanks to you and Bernard being here all these years... You both played a huge part in her success today."

Yvonne wiped her tears, took a deep breath, and looked at Cecilia with eyes full of pride. "Auntie knows you’re a good kid. Let’s talk about this later. Right now, my mind is completely stuck on ’ten thousand yuan.’ I can’t think about anything else."

That made Cecilia laugh. She nodded. "Alright. It’s not urgent, anyway. Let’s get going. I made reservations at a French restaurant today. I’ll take you to try something new."
