Reborn with Nothing but My Farm and Vengeance in the Apocalypse novel Chapter 456

Chapter 456: Chapter 456: Stirring Up Trouble

The deafening gunshot startled all the residents in the living room. They screamed and scattered, terrified of being hit by a stray bullet.

Only the four aunts of the man with glasses stood frozen in place, as if they hadn’t yet processed what had happened.

When they finally did, all four of them broke down—they had just lost their nephew, and now they had lost their brother.

The Quinn Family had lost two generations of heirs in a single day. The four aunts looked as if their souls had left their bodies. They threw themselves onto their brother’s still-bleeding corpse and began to shriek.

"Brother!!"

"Quinn!!"

The four-fold shriek was like a demonic sound piercing their ears, making everyone’s heads ring. The residents, afraid the dead man’s aunts might do something drastic in their agitated state, all backed away to give them space.

Taking advantage of the chaos, Melody Summers quietly took out the "Enchanting Secret Medicine" and sprinkled it on the four women.

The next second, all four of them fainted at once.

Seeing this, Melody Summers said to the crowd, "They must have been overwhelmed by grief and cried themselves unconscious... Let’s lock them up together for now, to prevent them from doing anything else rash."

Two farces had unfolded today, resulting in two deaths. The people from the Emergency Management Office and the residents in the living room had all grown somewhat numb.

Taking Melody Summers at her word, they didn’t suspect a thing. Everyone helped carry the women out, then they all pitched in to wipe the blood from the floor.

As Shawn Lynch bent down to wipe up the blood, he muttered sheepishly to his father, Mr. Lynch, who was beside him, "Now I get why Miss Winnie didn’t want us to kill those four robbers earlier..."

Killing just the one guy with glasses caused this much trouble. If they had killed the other four all at once...

—The consequences would have been unthinkable!

’If the other four robbers’ relatives and friends also came out to make a scene, the situation would probably spiral beyond what the few of us could control! We’d have to face dozens of enraged family members, and there’s no telling how things would escalate...’

Just as the bloodstains were nearly cleaned up, someone in the crowd suddenly said, "How could they just kill Mr. Quinn like that? That’s too cruel and ruthless!"

Melody Summers was taken aback. She turned to look and saw that the person who had just spoken was none other than Frank York.

’Has he lost his mind? Why is he suddenly sympathizing with Quinn? Quinn was the one attacking people with a knife!’

’If we hadn’t killed Quinn, what would have happened if he’d hurt other residents?’

’This Frank York is just unbelievable!’

Frank York had a timid look on his face, but seeing everyone in the living room turn to look at him, he clenched his jaw and said, "Mr. Quinn was just a father who lost his child. That’s why he acted on impulse. He probably wouldn’t have even hurt anyone with that little fruit knife. You just needed to restrain him. Why did you have to kill him?!"

Frank York was genuinely scared now. He hadn’t expected both Melody Summers and Winnie Summers to have guns, nor that they would be so ruthless in using them.

He had offended Melody Summers on the 15th floor with his big mouth, and just now he had offended Winnie Summers by speaking up for the robber. The very thought made his skin crawl.

Just as Frank York was about to retort, Maisie Lynch, who was standing nearby, suddenly turned and said, "Yeah, that guy Quinn pulled out a knife to stab people. Why shouldn’t he have been shot to stop him?"

Maisie Lynch looked at Frank York with an expression of pure disdain and said scornfully, "You’re so rational, so kind-hearted, so ’manly’—so how come I didn’t see you pounce on Quinn and restrain him just now? When Quinn and his family were causing a scene, you looked like you wanted to shrink into a corner!"

"You only know how to hide, yet you have the nerve to blame the people who stepped up to face the threat. If everyone was as ’rational’ as you, Quinn would have probably hacked us all to death!"

Maisie Lynch’s words made Frank York’s face turn bright red. He had no idea why this woman had suddenly jumped in and interfered!

Melody Summers was also a little surprised to see this. Her relationship with Maisie Lynch was terrible; she never expected Maisie to step up and speak in her defense.

Hearing Maisie Lynch’s words, the other residents in the living room began to chime in:

"Yeah, that guy Quinn was crazy! If he hadn’t been killed, he definitely would have hurt someone else!"

"He deserved to be killed. If we got cut by that knife of his, we can’t even go to a hospital. We’d be goners for sure."

"Quinn didn’t die unjustly. You guys didn’t see the look in his eyes. They were bloodshot, like he’d gone mad. It was terrifying!"

"How can anyone be pleading Quinn’s case?! I was standing right at the front, his knife almost got me! Thank God Ms. Summers shot him, or I’d be meeting my maker!"
