Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 142

Chapter 142

Raven POV

A week later.

“Jesus Christ,” Aeress exclaimed as I came trudging out in the early afternoon, hungry and my eyes filled with dark circles, “what the fuck did you do last night?” She paused, “actually you don’t need to tell me. You’re practically glowing with all the sex you had last night,” she teased, a playful smirk on her face, “not to mention all this week.”

I coughed, sitting at the table and gratefully accepting a mug of coffee from a kind-hearted omega, “I don’t think you want to know all the details about your brother’s sex life, Aeress.” My voice was slightly hoarse.

She waved a hand, nodding in agreement. Hades came sauntering in, a wide grin on his face, looking pleased with himself, looking remarkably cheerful, whereas I felt like a truck had run over me twice.

“Hades,” Aeress scolded, “look how tired Raven is. You kept her up all night. Gods, everybody heard you both,” she added as I almost spat out my coffee, “you really should soundproof your room. Especially if you’re going to be as insatiable as the two of you have been for the last week!”

Fuck. My cheeks blushed bright red. Hades was unfazed, the bastard.

“Good idea,” Hades nodded solemnly, winking at me as I began to tuck into a large plate of meat and eggs, ” Raven’s loud, that’s for sure,” he added teasingly, and then rushed to pat me on the back as I began to choke.

Was he trying to kill me?

Aeress laughed. “Is this my cold-hearted brother? You’re doting on her,” she nodded at me, beaming widely, “1 guess love makes all the difference.”

“You can’t talk,” Hades grumbled, sitting next to me, “you and Jackson aren’t exactly opposed to public displays of affection.”

“We need time to plan the wedding,” Aeress’s voice cuts through my thoughts, causing me to turn and blink at her, “it has to be grand and it has to be special. My big brother is getting married,” she said excitedly and then got up and hurried over, hugging me fiercely, “to my best friend. I never thought I would see the day. Scratch that, he was going to marry that bitch,” she breathed, “but this is so much better. You’re brother and father will be so happy,” she squealed at me.

Of course. Damien and my father would have to attend. Already, I could envision my father walking me down the aisle, and tears pricked the corners of my eyes. It was a moment I had never dreamed would be possible.

“I can’t wait until you both have a baby together,” Aeress cried, clapping her hands and looking excitedly at both of us.

The air suddenly went colder by a couple of degrees.

I cringed, even as the look on Hades’ face went positively glacial, taking me aback. We might not have discussed having children, but I had assumed he was open to the idea, especially considering he was going to have one with Marissa and he hadn’t even loved her.

Instantly, the mood shifted. “I don’t think having a baby right now is a good idea,” Hades said abruptly. “You’ll have to contend with being a mother for now,” he told Aeress, who looked confused.
