Candy was just about to ask her mommy if this was the Mr. Long-Legs who had just left.

"Mommy?"

Kimberley reached out and stroked her daughter's tiny head, nodding.

Candy looked back at Jerome. Jerome offered the little girl an even more loving and tender smile. "Can you call me Daddy? Daddy has missed you so much too."

He looked at Candy with boundless anticipation, yet he was deeply nervous.

For the first time in his entire life, he felt this kind of anxiety and utter lack of confidence.

He didn't know if his daughter would reject him or hate him.
