Supreme Magus novel Chapter 4454

Chapter 4454: Loose Ends (Part 2)

’If I hear one more thought that doesn’t belong to me, I swear that I’ll start charging you all rent!’ Lith said. ’Get out of my head, and I mean literally. Solus, you can stay. Just focus on recon, please.’

’Way ahead of you.’ Solus used the Eyes and Ears of Menadion to perform a full scan of the Carkas Estate.

She examined the various permanent arrays, studied their effects, and searched for any weak point the Demons could exploit.

’The good news is that this place is nothing much. It’s worse than the Frorl Estate, but much better than the Blood Axes’ underground fortress.’ Solus said. ’The bad news is that this is the ancestral house of a noble bloodline loyal to the Crown.

’You can’t break in as Tarak from Cerea. You must follow protocol, or the origin of any evidence we collect will be rightfully questioned. A smart lawyer would claim that, without a proper chain of custody, there is no way to know if Carkas is truly guilty of treason or if you’re just framing him to save Keyla.’

’Thanks, Solus.’ Lith nodded. ’I got so used to barging inside my enemies’ lairs that I forgot warrants are a thing. And that even though I’ve already asked Kami for one.’

Kamila had requested the search and arrest warrants from her superior, and Jirni had signed them instantly based on the evidence at hand. Then Kamila had forwarded the paperwork to Lith, putting him on the right side of the law.

"This is Supreme Magus Verhen!" Lith said, his voice magically amplified.

’Say that again. This time with your face and while wearing your Magus robe, though.’ Solus pointed out. ’Also, maybe project a Manohar’s ego-sized hologram of yourself. Otherwise, everyone will take you for a madman.’

’Good point.’ Lith shapeshifted into his Mogarian appearance and had his adventurer clothes turn into his golden and white Magus uniform.

"I’m here on His Majesty’s service to arrest Baron Elmun Carkas for multiple charges of accessory to murder, aggravated robbery, fencing, and conspiracy against his fellow nobles and the people of the Ghishal County.

"You have three seconds to depower the arrays of the Carkas Mansion and drop your weapons. If you don’t comply, everyone inside the magical formations will also be considered an accessory to all the charges and treated accordingly to the law. One!"

Lith assumed his full Tiamat form, blotting out the sun with his wings and plunging the noble household into an unnatural darkness.

"Two!" Double Edge appeared in his hands, and he and the Sigil Demons began to weave their respective Blade Spells.

Varegrave and the other Demons sealed the magic runes inside themselves so no one would notice, while Lith conjured strings of colossal runes with each swing of his blade.

He released so much mana that the defensive magical formations became visible to the naked eye just to resist the pressure exerted by the nascent Blade Spells.

"Three!" The array field went down, but Lith ordered his Demons to hold their position, ready to unleash their Blade Spells the moment the magical formations were reactivated, or someone tried to sneak in or out of the mansion.

Lith shrunk to his human size and bolted past the external gate and through the park, landing right before the main entrance.

"Open up!" He said, and the double doors swung open while his voice was still echoing.

"Please, have mercy." The butler was a middle-aged man with red hair, a moustache, and a livery. "My family lives in here. We haven’t done anything wrong. We are law-abiding citizens of the Kingdom. I swear."

’A Warp Steps is about to form on the caron’s right!’ Solus warned him.
