“Eat?” Diana sneered, a bitter smile on her lips. “How about nobody eats!”

She leaned down, grabbed the tablecloth with both hands, and yanked with all her strength. A delicious Thanksgiving feast, along with the sound of shattering ceramic, flew into the air and crashed onto the floor.
Lauren screamed.
The warm, festive scene was instantly shattered.
Gareth stared at the chaos, then at Diana. Her face was twisted with hatred, blinded by this so–called happy family reunion. She was burning with pure, unbridled rage.
Lynn tried to grab her, but it was too late.
“Happy Thanksgiving!” Diana spat out.
She turned, grabbed Lynn’s hand, and stormed out, leaving a stunned Gareth and a sobbing Lauren behind.
Stanley watched Diana leave. A deep sense of helplessness washed over him.
Diana had just stepped outside when she saw Brian walking in. She grabbed his hand, not letting him go. inside, and pulled him away with her.
From the yard, Brian glanced inside and saw the chaos. He immediately understood what had happened.
By the car. Diana stopped and looked at Lynn. “Sorry you had to see that,” she said.
Lynn wasn’t sure how to comfort her. “Don’t worry about it. I’m just glad you’re okay.”
She’d been terrified. She’d never been in a situation like that. Part of her admired Diana’s bravery.
If it were me, I’d probably be hiding in a corner crying.
Brian and Diana got into his car. Brian turned to Lynn. “Thanks,” he said.
“No problem,” Lynn replied.
Brian drove off with Diana. He’d gone to Isadiana Studio looking for her. Bonita said she’d gone somewhere with Lynn, so he’d come to pick her up. He never expected to walk into that mess.
I should have been here earlier. I would’ve helped her flip that table.
After they left, Lynn sat alone in her car.
A failed marriage ruined two families. They turned a nice Thanksgiving into this.
Distracted, she started the car and headed toward her parents‘ house.

Chapter 549 Happy Thanksgiving!
At least I have parents who love me. My life is okay. We’re not rich, but I’ve never wanted for anything.
At that moment, the desire to go home hit her hard. She drove faster than usual.

The moment she parked, she didn’t even grab her luggage. She ran straight for the small yard of her family’s house.
“Mom! Dad!” she yelled.
“Why are you running around like that? You’re a married woman now!” Betty’s voice, full of complaint came from inside.
Before she could say another word, Lynn rushed in and threw herself into Betty’s arms.
“Ow!” Betty winced, frowning. “You’re a grown woman!”
Lynn ignored the comment and started covering Betty’s cheeks with kisses.
“Dear, dear Mommy, I missed you!”
Betty was caught off guard, a little flustered. What’s gotten into my daughter today?
“Where’s Dad?”
“In the study, with-”
Before Betty could finish, Lynn was already running upstairs.
She burst into the study and found Gordon sitting on the sofa with a cup of coffee. She walked over, snuggled up to him, and practically climbed into his lap.
“Daddy-”
Gordon frowned. “Why are you acting like a little kid?”
“Because I am still a kid!”
She hugged Gordon tightly. A soft chuckle from beside the sofa caught her attention.
She looked over.
It was Lucas.
He was back–and he was at her house!
Lynn’d thought he wasn’t coming back.
When did he get back? He didn’t even tell me he was coming.
Who shows up right at dinner time?

She quickly let go of Gordon and sat up straight, a wave of embarrassment washing over her.
Lucas probably thinks nothing good of me anymore.
Gordon couldn’t help but laugh, “What, you finally know how to be shy?”
“Don’t be mean…” Lynn whispered to him. Then she forced a tight smile in Lucas‘ direction.

Lucas‘ eyes hadn’t left Lynn since the moment she’d rushed in. He had so much he wanted to say to her,
So, this is how Lynn acts when she’s happy. But with me… I don’t think I’ve ever seen her really smile. When she does, it’s fake. Like just now.
Gordon looked at Lucas, noticing his gaze was fixed on Lynn. A thought occurred to him.
Earlier, Gordon’s attitude toward Lucas hadn’t been great. He’d silently approved when Lynn tried to call off the engagement. They’d lived together for a while and were now married, but part of him still didn’t fully trust Lucas.
But now, the way Lucas was looking at Lynn seemed different.
“What are you doing here?” Lynn asked, glancing at him briefly before quickly looking away, too nervous to meet his eyes.
Lucas sat up perfectly straight. He didn’t look too good.
Lynn wondered if he was mad.
“I got home and you weren’t there. Your luggage was gone too. I figured you’d come back here, so I came to pick you up,” he said.
Lynn’s heart sank. Pick me up… So Lucas doesn’t plan on letting me stay here tonight.
