"My wife is also my son’s biological mother."
The news was so unexpected that no one spoke for several seconds.
Arthur remained composed, having already known the truth, but the others looked at one another with visible surprise.
Then, little by little, the shock on their faces was replaced by genuine happiness.
They all adored young Master Skylar and knew how much he had longed for a mother’s love. Learning that his biological mother had finally returned felt like the happiest news they could have received.
Gordon smiled broadly before he said excitedly, "Congratulations, sir..."
The others quickly followed.
"Congratulations, sir."
"We’re very happy for your family."
Zachary warmly acknowledged their words with a gentle nod.
"I wanted all of you to know because there will be no secrets within this household regarding my family."
His voice remained calm but carried unmistakable conviction.
"My wife deserves your respect not only because she is Mrs. Sterling, but because she is also Skylar’s mother."
"Understood, sir," everyone answered together.
Satisfied, Zachary gave a slight wave of his hand.
"Very well. You may return to your duties."
The staff bowed respectfully before quietly leaving the dining room one after another.
Once the room became quiet again, Zachary finally walked to the head of the dining table and took his usual seat.
Arthur silently poured him a cup of freshly brewed coffee before excusing himself to supervise breakfast preparations.
Left alone, Zachary picked up the iPad that had already been placed beside his plate.
Reading the morning business news had become part of his daily routine.
He unlocked the screen and casually scrolled through the latest headlines.
His expression remained calm until one particular article caught his attention.
[ Sterling Tech Finally Appoints Riley Sterling as the New CEO! ]
The moment he read the headline, his brows slowly drew together.
He immediately opened the article and quickly scanned its contents. By the time he reached the end, his relaxed expression had completely disappeared.
A deep frown settled across his forehead.
"What the hell is William thinking?" he muttered under his breath.
Zachary placed the iPad on the table, unable to hide his dissatisfaction.
"How could he hand the company over to someone that immature?"
Although Riley possessed talent, Zachary knew better than most that talent alone wasn’t enough to lead a corporation of Sterling Tech’s size. Running a company required experience, discipline, and emotional maturity—qualities Riley had yet to fully develop.
Leaning back in his chair, Zachary let out a quiet breath as he stared thoughtfully at the headline on the screen.
Somehow, he had a feeling this decision would cause far more trouble than anyone in the Sterling family expected.
"Daddy..."
Skylar’s cheerful voice came from the doorway, immediately drawing Zachary’s attention away from the news on his iPad.
He looked up and saw Skylar walking into the dining room hand in hand with Sienna.
The sight instantly softened his expression.
Skylar looked brighter than ever, his face glowing with excitement. Beside him, Sienna wore a gentle smile that hadn’t left her face all morning. Every now and then, when their eyes met, she smiled even more naturally, making Zachary’s heart unexpectedly warm.
He stood up at once.
Walking around the table, he pulled out the chair on his left for Sienna before moving to the opposite side to pull out another chair for Skylar.
"Can we hike the mountain behind the house today?"
Sienna couldn’t help smiling. The way he eagerly planned their day reminded her so much of the little boy she had first met at the Pine Villa. Back then, he had been just as excited to arrange every activity himself.
Zachary stopped chewing and looked thoughtfully at his son. After taking a sip of water, he answered calmly. "Not today, Buddy."
Skylar’s shoulders drooped a little. "Why not?"
"Because this is your mom’s first day at home," Zachary explained patiently. "She needs some rest, especially with her hand injured."
He glanced affectionately at Sienna before looking back at Skylar. "How about we go hiking next weekend instead?"
Skylar considered it for a moment. Then he nodded. "Okay."
His disappointment lasted only a few seconds before another idea popped into his head. He immediately turned toward Sienna. "Mom!"
"Yes?"
"Then how about I give you a tour of the whole house after breakfast?"
Before Sienna could answer, Zachary spoke first.
"Not immediately after breakfast."
Skylar looked at him again. "Why?"
"I still need to introduce your mom to everyone who works here," Zachary explained. "After that, there’s something important we need to talk to you about."
Skylar blinked several times. Although he didn’t know what the important matter was, he trusted his father enough not to ask more questions.
"Okay, Daddy."
Satisfied, he returned to eating his breakfast.
Meanwhile, Sienna quietly became nervous.
She had only met Arthur since arriving at the mansion the previous evening. She wondered what the other staff members would think of her, especially since she had suddenly become the mistress of the house.
Fortunately, those worries disappeared much sooner than she expected.
