Sienna opened her messaging app and checked the group chat she shared with her closest friends.
Only a few seconds after reading the latest messages, she suddenly burst into a coughing fit.
"Cough... cough..."
Zachary immediately turned toward her.
Concern quickly replaced the smile on his face.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
Sienna nodded while covering her mouth.
"I’m fine," she replied between coughs. "I just read something... unexpectedly funny."
Still looking concerned, Zachary gently rubbed her back while she continued reading.
Ava: "Oh my! Who’s the crazy-rich man who booked The Corner Table just for a date?"
Mia: "Seriously? Wow... that’s so romantic."
Ava: "Yes! My fiancé and I wanted to eat there tonight, but the staff told us they were closed. When I asked why, one of them said the restaurant had been reserved for a very important date."
Mia: "How much money would someone have to spend to close the entire restaurant?"
Riley: "Mia, for rich people, that’s probably pocket change."
Mia: "Oops... I forgot you’re one of those wealthy people now."
Mia: "Ugh... I wish I had a rich boyfriend too..."
Ava: [ LOL Emoji ]
Riley: "I can introduce you to some of my friends."
Mia: "Please do! I’m looking forward to it!"
Ava: "By the way, has anyone heard from Sienna? I called her today, but she never answered."
Sienna couldn’t stop smiling.
She quietly exited the chat before any of them noticed she was online.
If they ever found out the mysterious man who had reserved the entire restaurant was Zachary—and that she had been the woman on that date—she was certain her friends would never let her live it down.
She could already imagine Mia’s dramatic reaction and Ava’s endless teasing.
The thought alone made her smile even wider.
"If only they knew it was Zach," she murmured under her breath. "They’d tease me for months."
"What was that, Wife?" Zachary asked curiously.
Sienna immediately locked her phone and slipped it back into her bag.
"Oh... nothing."
She answered a little too quickly, making Zachary narrow his eyes with suspicion.
"Nothing?"
She smiled innocently. "Nothing at all."
He studied her for another second before chuckling. "I have a feeling you’re hiding something."
"I would never."
"My wife..." he said, smiling amusedly. "I’m glad you’re a terrible liar."
She laughed but kept refusing to answer. Instead, she turned toward the large window beside her.
Outside, the dark sea gently reflected the lights scattered across the island ahead. As the yacht slowly moved closer to the dock, more lights came into view, outlining the peaceful shoreline and hinting at the beautiful place where they would begin their honeymoon together.
Without realizing it, Sienna’s smile returned, and the excitement in her heart quietly grew once again.
...
Sienna couldn’t get a clear view of the island. Only a handful of lights illuminated parts of the shoreline, leaving most of it hidden beneath the quiet night.
The closer they came to the villa, the more her imagination had begun to wander. She was twenty-six years old, and before meeting Zachary, she had never experienced anything more intimate than holding hands with the boy she had dated in high school.
Without warning, Zachary’s words from that morning echoed inside her mind: "My wife... let’s make another baby."
The memory alone was enough to quicken her heartbeat. Trying not to show how flustered she felt, she quietly took a slow, calming breath.
"Why should I be nervous?" she asked as calmly as she could, even though her heart was beating much faster than usual.
Zachary didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, he stepped closer.
Before she realized what he intended to do, he slipped one arm behind her back, the other beneath her knees, and effortlessly lifted her into his arms.
Sienna let out a small gasp.
"Zach..."
He smiled at her.
"Let’s talk about that inside, my wife."
She blinked, still surprised by how naturally he carried her.
Although she protested softly, she didn’t resist. Instead, she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her warm cheek against his shoulder.
"I can walk," she murmured.
"I know."
He adjusted his hold on her before carrying her inside the villa.
"But I’m worried you’ll get tired, lie down on the bed, and fall asleep the moment your head touches the pillow."
His teasing tone made her smile.
She knew exactly what he meant.
They had been married for two weeks, yet every time they found themselves alone together, something always interrupted them before they could share a proper wedding night.
