The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 101

"Done talking?"

"The client isn't here yet, our appointment is at 9:30. Hey, I was just scrolling through short videos. Felix posted a story today about a neighborhood feud with Jasmine. They were throwing toads onto each other's balconies, and Jasmine actually dared to grab them!"

Cassidy: "..."

Since joining the Quincy Corporation, she hadn't managed the studio much.

Let alone pay attention to Felix and Jasmine's progress.

"Let's put that aside." Cassidy said, "Do you know where your husband went tonight?"

"Ah? No, he had something to do."

"He went out and didn't tell you exactly what for?"

"He just said he'd come pick me up at the studio when he finishes around ten."

"I'm at the same gala as him. Seraphina Sinclair is here too."

"That's quite a coincidence."

"Let me tell you, when he gets back, ask him who he ran into today. He'll probably mention me first. Then press him on who else was there and watch his reaction. If he looks guilty, there's a problem."

Nora: "..."

She didn't really understand these mind games.

Cassidy: "I don't know if I'm just imagining things, but I felt like they interacted."

Nora: "They already know each other; interacting is normal."

Cassidy: "If you finish early, do you want to come over and see for yourself? I'm telling you, men can't be spoiled. You take one step back, and they'll walk all over you. Your bottom line dictates how he treats you. A little jealousy now and then doesn't hurt; it can actually spice up a marriage. If all else fails, just say I asked you to come. We haven't seen each other in so long, it's a perfect excuse to catch up."

Just then, out of the corner of her eye, Cassidy saw Maloney leave the banquet hall.

Right after, Seraphina also slipped out alone.

Cassidy quickly put her phone away and hurried after them.

It turned out they were heading in completely different directions.

"Do you even know Vanessa is pregnant? Because of you, she almost miscarried!"

"Hilarious. How is that my problem?" This was Seraphina's voice.

She scoffed. "The men groveling at my feet are the ones throwing themselves at me. Me, seduce? What a joke!"

"Your husband runs off to simp for another woman, and instead of keeping him on a leash, you come here to throw dirty water on me? Hah. Women like you only dare to bark at other women. In front of your husband, you're nothing but a mute dog."

The insults were vicious.

Screams and furious yells erupted from inside.

Followed immediately by the sharp clatter of heels.

They were coming out!

Thrilled by the juicy gossip, Cassidy spun around to make a quick getaway.

Only to accidentally slam right into someone.
