The Lycan Prinee’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance)
Chapter 34
Lyra
After we finish lunch, the girls drag me toward the academy’s famous field arena. They said it’s time for the Wolf Games.” It’s basically the only thing
people talk about besides classes.
Today, they’re playing a game called ‘The Bone Run.‘
It’s a high–speed game where two teams of wolves compete to get a weighted, gold–plated bone from the center of the field and carry it to the opponent’s post. There are no rules other than “don’t kill each other.” It’s basically football, but with teeth, claws, and a lot more danger.
Today, they said the high ranking wolves are the ones playing, and Roman Morningstar is one of the players. He’s the only royal member that does simple
things like this and I think that’s why I really like him. He’s so normal.
We find seats in the stands, and the energy is electric. Immediately we sit, my eyes roam the arena until it reaches the private VIP space across the field and my heart sinks. Prince Kai is sitting there, looking bored and scary. His mate, Rina is glued to his side, her arm hooked around his, wearing that Neel
Diamond necklace like a trophy.
Even from this distance, I can feel how his presence consumes the whole place.
Suddenly, Kai turns and his dark eyes lock onto mine with such intensity that I feel like I’ve been hit by a physical punch. He doesn’t look away, and neither do I. It’s like the hundreds of screaming fans around us just disappear. We continue to stare at each other as the game proceeds. I try to look away from him
but it’s impossible.
“Go Prince Roman!” Amara screams, snapping me out of my trance.
Down on the field, a huge, grey beast–wolf with a powerful build is tearing through the competition. It’s Roman.
He’s dangerously fast as he dodges a lunging black wolf, jumps over another, and shoots the gold bone into the goal just as the buzzer sounds.
The stadium erupts in cheers. Roman shifts back into his human form behind a screen and returns a second later, pulling on a shirt and grinning his
signature, attractive smile.
“He’s so cool,” Erika sighs.
“Me too!” Isolde and Amara agree. I nod as well. I’m so happy for him and his team, especially after he defended me earlier. As the players exit the field, we all run down toward the railing. Different she–wolves hug and praise Roman for winning the game.
The moment he sees me, he smiles at me.
“You were amazing, your highness!” I yell as he approaches.
Roman laughs as he walks up to me. Before I can say anything else, he pulls me into a hug, holding me tight. “I could hear you cheering for me all the way
from here. Thank you, Lyra‘ He whispers in my ear.
He pulls back and brushes a strand of straight white hair from my face. “I’m giving you a peck now, I hope your friends do not mind?*
My face flushed as the girls chorus an excited ‘No‘ while giggling excitedly.

Chapter 34
As his face starts to come down, a strong hand grabs my shoulder and yanks me back so hard I trip. I don’t need to look to know who it is. The scent of
musk and storm clouds is unmistakable.
“Get your fucking hands off her, Price Kai growls, interruping our group.
Roman’s smile drops, his eyes turning sharp as he looks at his cousin. “She was just saying congrats, Kai. Relax
“She has no business with you. Stay the fuck away from her. Kai snaps, tightening his grip on my arm. He doesn’t even look at Roman, his eyes are fixed on
me, dark and full of a boiling rage. “It’s time for your task. Move.”
He drags me away before I can even say goodbye to my friends. I have to practically jog to keep up with his long, angry strides. Once we’re behind the arena
hallway, I’ve had enough.
*Let go of me!” I yell, yanking my arm back. Surprisingly, he lets go, but he spins around to face me, looming over me like a shadow. “Don’t you have a
future mate to attend to? Go back to her and leave me alone!”
Kai’s face darkens. He steps into my space, pushing me back against a pillar. He reaches out his hand and cups my face with a grip that’s almost painful.
“Stay the fuck away from my cousin,” he warns, his voice a low, dangerous vibration. “I mean it, Lyra. Do not let him touch you again.”
