Disclaimer Hurtful scene
The world had narrowed to a single poing of terror.
Nick’s weight pressed down on her, his body heavy and unrelenting. His hands were everywhere-rough, demanding, tearing at her clothes with an urgency that bordered on desperation. The smell of alcohol and wolfsbane clung to him like a shroud, making her stomach churn with nausea.
“Nick, please,” Iva sobbed, her voice cracking. “Please stop. You’re hurting me.”
He didn’t listen.
His fingers dug into her hips, his grip bruising, as he forced her legs apart. She tried to squirm away, to create distance, but he was too strong, too determined. His knee pressed between her thighs, holding her in place.
“You’re mine,” he growled, his voice thick with alcohol and something darker. “You’ve always been mine. And I’m done waiting.”
His hand fumbled with the fastening of his pants, his movements clumsy but purposeful. Iva’s breath came in ragged gasps, her heart pounding so hard she could hear it in her ears. She felt the cool air against her exposed skin as he yanked her underwear aside.
“No, she whimpered, her hands pushing uselessly against his chest. “Nick, please. Please don’t do this. Not like this…”
“Shut up,” he snarled, his eyes wild and unfocused./Just shut up and let me have you-
He positioned himself between her legs, his body heavy and insistent. She felt the blunt pressure of him against her, and a fresh wave of terror washed over her.
“Please,” she begged, her voice breaking. “Please, not like this I love you. I love you, but not like this-
And then, he thrust into her.
Iva screamed.
The pain was sharp and immediate, tearing through her like a blade. She felt herself tear, felt the burn of his intrusion, felt the violation of her body in a way that made her soul shatter.
He was inside her.
Forcing himself into her.
Against her will.
Against everything she had ever believed about him.
Tears streamed down her face as she lay there, her body frozen in shock and pain. He moved inside her,
his rhythm rough and desperate, his breath coming in harsh grunts against her neck.

“See?” he muttered, his voice slurred and triumphant. “See how good it feels? See how much you need This?”
Iva sobbed, her hands clawing uselessly at the sheets.
She felt so broken. So hollow So utterly destroyed.
And then, the door burst open.
Rhys stood in the doorway, his face a mask of fury. His eyes took in the scene in an instant-Nick on top of her, Iva’s tear-streaked face, the violence of the act.
“GET OFF HER!” he roared.
He crossed the room in three quick strides, his hands grabbing Nick by the shoulders and yanking him away. Nick stumbled backward, his pants still undone, his eyes wide with shock and confusion.
“What the hell-” Nick started.
Rhys didn’t let him finish.
He drove his fist into Nick’s face, the impact sending him crashing into the wall. Nick crumpled to the floor, his hand pressed to his bleeding nose.
“Get out,” Rhys said, his voice low and dangerous. “Get out now.”
Nick scrambled to his feet, his eyes darting between Rhys and Iva. For a moment, something flickered in his gaze-shame, perhaps, or regret.
But it was gone in an instant, replaced by a cold, hard mask of defiance.
“This isn’t over,” he spat, pulling up his pants and stumbling toward the door. “You can’t keep her from me. She’s my mate.”
“OUT!” Rhys roared.
Nick disappeared into the darkness.
The door slammed shut behind him.
Iva lay on the bed, her body shaking with violent sobs. Her clothes were torn, her body aching, her soul shattered into a thousand pieces.
Rhys crossed to her, his movements slow and careful.
“Iva,” he said. “Iva, look at me.”
She couldn’t.
She just lay there, her hands pressed to her stomach, her sobs filling the room.
Rhys sat on the edge of the bed, his hand hovering over her shoulder, not quite touching.
